Announcing Steemlist: Decentralized Steem-Powered Classifieds
Announcing Steemlist: a decentralized, open-source Craigslist-style classifieds platform based on Steem.
I have been trying to decide how I can help contribute to the Steem community with the small amount of free time that I have, and I think one project that I could fairly easily and efficiently implement would be a decentralized classifieds platform running on the Steem network. If I don't hear any strong arguments against in the comments, I'm planning on starting development shortly. The reasons I want to work on this project are threefold:
- I want to contribute to this community and help it grow.
- I want to become more familiar with blockchain technologies.
- I think some people might find this platform valuable and useful.
I would love to hear some feedback before I dive in. What kind of features would you look for in such an app? Do you think there is any potential demand for such a platform?

Random question: do you prefer "steemslist" or "steemlist"?
steemlist is better. This will be a true test of the anti-censorship aspect of Steem. People could really end up pushing the envelope.... good luck
I like it. I've had some similar ideas about hosting product catalog pages on steamit or using steemit for journaling on the blockchain (I'm curious if #journal will take off).
The amazing thing about Steemit is it opens up blockchain storage to anyone. It's a framework for doing all the amazing things blockchain advocates have been talking about for years, but in a way any of us can participate it.
Exciting times indeed.
I love all these fledgling ideas popping up from this new outlet. This is what its like to be on the forefront of something exciting!
Any updates on this project? It sounds like a great idea.
I havent heard much yet. Apparently the initial code is published on github so hopefully there will be more details coming up.
