You are so right. Happiness comes from within. That which we seek from the world is fleeting. This is so obvious watching the world cup. The stadium erupts when a goal is scored for the team but when the goal is against the supported team, the supporters weep.
Yes exactly, if your happiness is in someone else's hands. Then you don't control your own happiness.
