You say that you bought a lot of STEEM. Where did you buy it? If you bought it from an exchange, you normally just withdraw it to your steemit username, which in this case, will be transisto
Yeah I figured this out soon after by searching on Google but for the sake of improving steemit.com I don't think I should have had to.
For all intent and purposes this is not depositing Steem, it's buying steem, as the title also imply. There should be instruction there that explain just that. Awesome that is it so simple but everyone in crypto is used to retrieving a cryptic string of numbers to deposit.
I fully agree with you. The best way of bringing this to the attention of the developers is to open up a github account, and creating an "issue". They'll decide the merits of it, and perhaps someone will add a fix to address it.
I know that seems like a lot of work to get something done. But steemit is quite large, and they have thousands of people asking for things all at the same time. Very few make the effort to create an issue on Github or mention it there, but I think it's worth the effort.

I see you still have a lot of plain Steem in your wallet. How come? DO you trade with it? Surely it would be better to convert it to SP or do you prefer the liquidity?
