I've voted and read the entire bit of this post. I try to comment on things that can bring the person back to my own blogs as well.
yes, that's a fine idea too... but I guess it is not welcome on posts if you advertise your own posts too much... but if it is in topic and you can refer on your own blog it is a good thing I guess ;)
I hear what you are saying but I guess I think of things in the old building of links type of way. I do try to make informed comments on other people's posts as much as possible.

I should have said in regards to building links like the old SEO strategies before Google destroyed the internet.
