My Love Story with Steem it

It’s been a week since i started using Steem it and i decided to share the excitement so i’m writing this blog.

How did it started?

As a background, I’ve been a part time crypto trader for over a year now and it has been a wild ride for me, since i started trading without any knowledge on what i was doing. I was neither a bull nor a bear then. I was a pig trying to catch trains that has already left. It was a painful start for me but as i went on i started to understand the trade and been doing good on it for a while now.

Getting on Board

I was busy looking at my charts ( I was trading NXT, VRC at that time after i dumped all my ethers following the DAO crisis) when i stumbled on a chat from the polo https://poloniex.com/ throll box. Steem had been been appearing in the conversation few times but i never really bothered as i was clueless of what coin its was. Chats told us that steem train has come and is about to leave, at first i thought it was just another hype for an ambush trade but 2 days later came a tweet from fellow traders, “Steem went over a thousand percent in 10days despite being delayed by a hack on its social media site. I figured it was too late for me to jump in so i let it pass. I was a blind bull. A BULL RUN was happening right under my nose and while i was following different coins.

Lucky trade

A day later another coin hits Polo that had a steem name on it. It was Steem Dollars and it had been trading for 100% increase at the time i noticed it. This prompted me to study the coin but by the time I went back on the charts it was up by 325% already in just minutes. This prompted me to sell some of my NXTs and VRC taking losses around 10% to get onboard with Steem Dollars and was lucky enough to sell before it peaked at 420% increase. That moment i decided to check the platform although i had my doubts due to some reviews saying the platform was way too ambitious and it was not sustainable as users are forced to read, upvote and comment on boring contents in the hopes of earning tokens.

Learning with the early adopters

It was a rough start as i tried uploading contents that received few likes but was not earning till i figured i had to be active to get noticed, courtesy a new found friend @instructor2121 . And so i started reading trending posts and been active on them. I was surprised that by the time I woke up, some my blogs and comments started earning some tokens which gave me a surge feeling of excitement that i had to share it with my friends. I easily convinced them but by the time they decided to register, the platform was down for new sign ups.

And its still down as of this posting, convincing me more that the user growth and content creation has gone parabolic as @johnsmith made mention in his blogs. Steem it adoption is going Exponential and it’s now currently ranked as number 3 in Coin Market Cap

My personal take

I'm holding on to STEEM and STEEM Dollars I bought during the dips because i am certain that the next leg of surge is just around the corner.

We have seen a platform that could provide a valuable source of income as we interact with each other. My take on this is that we have reached a point time where a revolution has started. We may be experiencing the birth pains now but we will get through this. No fortune 500 company had made it on their spot without being challenged by the Giants. It won’t be long before we see a new coin eclipsing the Icon that started the blockchain revolution, the Bitcoin. It’s not also farfetched to see Facebook gets overtaken by a new and simple platform as it did with friendster. We have seen the birth of a new game changer. My heartfelt gratitude to Steem It Devs ( @ned @dan @dantheman @berniesanders @smooth @kushed ) for coming up with such a great idea that would soon change the way we live.
