Fear of the Upvote ...

For those of us minnows that don't have a slider, the difference between your $0.03 upvote and $0.01 upvote is really negligible, and I'm not sure if it's possible (or likely) that you'll get down to 0% voting power in the time it takes to regenerate. Even though your curation is unlikely to earn you a huge payout (unless you're the first to catch something HOT), it does matter!

So don't fear the upvote!

I know you've likely read posts that say vote your 100% ten times then take some time off ... This does maximize the value of your vote, but as a minnow it doesn't really change your impact on the influence of a post.

That said, use your vote to practice curating while you're a minnow (or even a dolphin). When you come across a post that's valuable to you, or that you think will be valuable to the community, HIT THAT UPVOTE BUTTON! If the post has no real value, pass it by.

What is Valuable?
A post isn't just "valuable" if you think it will earn you money. Seriously, any post on here no matter how good or bad can earn you money. A post is valuable when it contributes something of value.

It's valuable if any of these apply;

1. You learned something new
2. It made you laugh, cry, experience emotion
3. It brought you closer to your faith, or espoused your beliefs in a positive way
4. It's new information, or information presented in a new way
5. It was entertaining
6. It was artistic
7. It helps you, or anyone become a better person or live a better life

It's not valuable if these apply;

1. It just begs for money, upvotes, steem ...
2. It encourages or promotes inhumane or illegal acts that degrade society or harm people
3. It is a "test"
4. It is intentionally mis-tagged to increase views (put into one of the top 5 tags with no relevance to the tag)
5. It is plagiarized or copy-pasted content with no contribution from the poster
