It wasn't clickbait. I said what my fear was. People will give up.
It kind of was ;) "my biggest fear on steemit", the words biggest and fear are very much aimed at provoking a reaction as opposed to a title "People potentially discouraged from Steem miss the point" or something... It is complex and I'm more of a technical/medical person but it does fall under the very provocative language use.

It's like that with anything. Steem is not going to make anyone rich who doesn't take a very active role in building Steem. Providing content is a way to do that but it has to be content people want or value just like with any other audience.
The issue right now with Steem is the community needs more big curators. Invite some people to be curators and over time it will be better for the content producers. But right now these are growing pains because content producers only currently bring competition for fewer curation points.
I hear there will be a referral program eventually but the point is t hat Steem offers opportunities you wont find anywhere else and as a content producer you still will make more money from Steem than Youtube.
