Honest Question regarding affiliate links.
I'm new to Steemit and still learning but I haven't been able to find any answers on my own.
A lot of the DIY projects I do require materials that I get from the internet, specifically Amazon.
Regardless of your personal opinion about them or how much power the people who run it now wield, it's still one of the most affordable places to buy necessary items.
Since they still offer an affiliate program I'm wondering if it's OK or NOT OK to post affiliate links for materials I use in DIY instructions I post?
Thanks in advance.
I would like to think so, since Steemit is all about rewarding content creators but I don't want to violate any TOS.
Hello!! Affiliate links are OKAY on Steemit! I've been posting them for over a year. Feel free to include them. Obviously you want to provide value to the Steemit community. If you look at my stuff, You'll see I write my post like normal, Then I'll put in a couple at the end of my posts. Or if I'm talking to a specific product, I'll link it to Amazon.
Great, thanks.
thank you.. i was just checking to this info too
This is also something I am wondering about. Is this more of a thing where if abused you will get flagged or is it officially against the rules?
Technically it's not against any rule to use affiliate links. I have seen some people get flagged for their use, but usually it's more an issue when felt like the affiliate links were just snuck in there.
In my opinion if you were to explicit about what are affiliate links, letting people know ahead time, there wouldn't be any issue.
Thanks
Thanks for the input. I always fully disclose about affiliate links anyway due to US regulations.
