Hi all, I've been completely out of the alt-currency loop since the Dogecoin community had a few dramatic twists. I even put my BTC in cold storage for a year with all the core/classic drama.

STEEMIT peaked my interest... actually, zapchain did, but they're seems to be a lot more engineering behind this platform and currency. The community will determine the success of the coin. While tipping clearly has its place, it's the wider usage of the currency that will drive the value upwards. If further technologies can be developed on this platform, then demand inevitably increases.

I've got a lot more readingg to do to understand the scope of the currency, but from a btc/steem trading perspective, we will likely see the rises, dumps, and a perpetual pattern of this until growth in application and adoption occur.
