Two Huge Steps Forward For The STEEM Blockchain!!!!
Picture being on one of your favorite non-STEEM blogs. You read an article before scrolling down to the comment section. As you are going through the comments, you decide you want to respond to one of them. As you hit reply, a button comes up that says "Log Into Steemit". You press that, post your comment, and delver an upvote. You notice the reward for the comment. changes.
Wait a second, how can this be? You are not on the STEEM blockchain using one of the many interfaces.
This is going to be a reality if @steempress achieves what they desire.
Yesterday, they spelled out what is taking place with their application. @steempress is a Wordpress plug in that allows for posts on that blogging platform to be posted directly onto the STEEM blockchain. This enables bloggers to have a great reach with their content while also providing that ability to monetize their posts.
In addition, they are nearing beta for a STEEM interface that is going to allow posters using the @steempress plug in to find communities and DAPPs that aligns with their content.
Finally, they intend on creating two-way interaction between the STEEM blockchain and Wordpress sites. This will allow the functionality of STEEM's content/reward system to be brought to Wordpress sites. This should expose STEEM to millions of people who are online.
In fact, Wordpress is reported to account for 30% of the blogging sites out there, running in the neighborhood of 70M or so. This is an enormous market.
To me, if @steempress pulls this off, we will have people sign up for STEEM accounts left and right. Essentially, this could bring millions of websites to the STEEM blockchain simply by them adopting the @steempres plug in.
This surely does offer website owners an alternative to Disqus. Of course, only one monetizes the site.

The other bombshell is that @steemmonsters is now accepting USD. Anyone can go to steemmonsters.com and buy the packs of cards using a credit card. Over the past few days, over $4K worth of transactions took place in this manner. Now people who lack some SBD yet want to get involved are able to do so.
Another benefit to this is that @steemmonsters is going to use the USD to pay the bills that require that. This saves them from selling the STEEM/SBD which removes some of the selling pressure.
They also decided to donate $10K to help cover the costs of Steemfest 3. This will help to reduce the price of admission. Certainly a gesture that helps out the STEEM community.
Finally, they are going to kickstarter a campaign where they are offering exclusive cards. Again, this will provide them with USD so as to pay the bills that require fiat. One point they made: any excess raised will be used to buy STEEM which will increase the buying pressure.
@steemmonsters is one of the more popular projects taking place on this blockchain. Since it was introduced a few months back, rarely a day goes by that my feed does not have someone posting something about it. What is incredible is the game is not even released yet. The beta version isn't even out.
It is not surprising to see @steemmonsters committing so much to this blockchain. @aggroed is one of the true Steemians who has been consistently doing all he can for this blockchain since I joined almost a year ago.
This is just another reflection of what makes the STEEM blockchain so powerful.
As I noted yesterday in a post, development is moving along at a rapid pace. We are seeing so many projects that are expanding to the level of relevance. Earlier in the year, I was writing about projects that were just being introduced. Now, these same projects are entering their third and fourth stages in their plans.
The exceptional thing about blockchain is that the success of an application makes the entire ecosystem stronger. Right now we have a number of applications that are growing and adding features. This is what is building value for STEEM even if the pricing action does not reflect it.
In the long run, it is a lot more stable.

I use the Steempress plugin and is working great, but sometimes the content is not well formatted.

Both great news for the Steem blockchain! I've read about them earlier today and thought, in different ways, both Steempress and Steem Monsters work toward the mass adoption of Steem.
So, in the future, some Wordpress bloggers might not choose to add a Facebook plugin to their blog, instead Steempress will connect their blog to Steem bidirectionally.
And adding USD as an option to buy Steem Monster packs will not only potentially increase their value, but will offer a way to buy Steem/SBD with USD that doesn't go through the regular pairs against BTC, ETH or maybe LTC.
I tried this plugin today. I love it! This is probably how I will publish to my Steemit blog from now on. It obviously needs a little tweaking, but its so cool!

Steem is on fire with development lately :)
I decided last weekend to build my own WP blog from my Steemit posts. It was quite some work, because you can't easily import your previous posts and so I had to do it manually. Took me some hours, but now I have Steempress running.
At the moment you don't have many settings with the addon. I wished there would be a timer for each post to delay posting to Steemit individually - at the moment there is only a global setting. This is important for Google to check out, what is the unique content and what's the duplicate.
Anyway - especially the idea, that comment will be synced in the future is a good thing. This way there is a unification of the Steem blockchain with the "legacy internet" and the WP blogs look way more crowded.

The steempress thing looks like a great way to make real bloggers to join steemit, I mean, real people with real content and not the other kind of people that come here expecting to get rich with no effort.
