You nailed it. There is tyranny on Steem and you identified it. A self proclaimed group of blockchain defenders go around with SP downvoting people they do not feel "meet their criteria". This is not the only group that does it.

Dividing means losing... uniting and accepting everyone for who they are will make us victorious in the end
And this can be applied on a much wider scale than STEEM blockchain... but this would be a good start...
