28 days before

In 28 days from now, we are going to "most probably" have a hardfork on the chain and things will shift again. As I keep saying, regardless of whether you agree with all, some or none of the proposal - what we can all agree on is that something needs to change on Steem. Personally, I am looking forward to having things shaken up a bit and see what kinds of interactions wriggle free.

Would be nice to get some conversations going and rather than just complaining about not having enough Resource Credits and then forgetting about it, the !drama can continue on infinitely with the 2.5 free downvotes are likely to stir up. who knows, with the entitlement couple with all the fear that so many people seem to hold, we might yet be able to pass EOS' 85 million transactions in 24 hours - well, that is if people have the resource credits to comment more than thrice a day.

The drama that exploded on discord after hardfork20 in some of the group chat rooms was one of the reasons I moved myself away from many of the groups on discord. Clusters of people who had no idea what was going on (despite months of discussion) screaming about "unfairness" as if they were personally targeted for extermination.

I see this as a positive sign.

The reason is that no matter what the fuck people say about the Steem blockchain, there are many people here who care about it enough to feel something when shit goes wrong. If Facebook goes down for a few hours, people don't give much of a shit these days, but on Steem, everyone cares.

The reason is that whether you have a million Steem Power or 10 Steem power - there is a sense of ownership on Steem and what that means is that when things go pear-shaped, there is a sense of loss. The loss might not even be financial. That fucking hardfork20 didn't let me post which means I "lost" my Steemitboard badge for a post every day of the week and, a post every day of the month.

Fucking hardforks targeting me personally to cock-block me from getting my badges!

You know when people watch something like WWF and get into the culture of it and talk about the matches and who is champion and the like - and you are thinking - "but that shit is staged, they are actors"? Those bastards make a metric shit-tonne of money fake wrestling and banging foldable chairs over each other.

Just because some people don't see the value in it, doesn't mean that there is no value in it and often, the things that prove to be the most valuable are the things that few suspect will be valuable at all. Most of the technology that is ubiquitous today was likely laughed over at one point in time or another. Half the shit you have spent your disposable income on got laughed at too.

But, someone thought it was a decent enough idea and not only that, they supported it, nurtured it, grew it, got pissed off with it, cried at all they sunk into, lost relationships because of it, got angry, screamed, tried to drink away the pain and eventually - people bought it and they were hailed as geniuses of industry.

A lot of shit just failed too.

But then, some didn't but was considered retarded:

8 years later:

This:

That is ~430 million US for the year and if you haven't seen, these suckers have exploded onto European streets at least.

But, no one gives a toss about any of this because, Steem couldn't possibly be successful because it is such a friggin toxic dog of a community that no one wants to join it. But hey, those Facebook fellas must be awesome because they make everything so convenient and FREE!!! We all love free shit!

If you don't realize yet, part of the reason that the community of Steem lags in polished development is because it is a decentralized community where people can't even bloody well decide whether muting someone or not is good or bad for the ecosystem - Facebook, twitter and instagram would have no trouble making that decision - if you don't make them money and piss them off - get fucked. The users don't have that power though.

You know what is pretty interesting? Anyone can be part of a development team on Steem or finance the creation of an app, a frontend and now even a decentralized token that they can choose how it operates yet, how many actually do? Naaah - that is all too hard, you know I'd have to work, pay for shit, drum up support... I'd rather just whinge about how Steem isn't meeting my needs. It is like being hungry in a kitchen full of food, but too lazy to cook.

Let's get takeout. It's so convenient.

Building shit and thinking about things like a healthy economy is so fucking boring - where is the action? You know, I want to see more pictures of this:

That could be KimK's ass -or it could be mine.

Yep, more of that please, and some pretty, young people sitting happily on tropical beaches talking about life and how to be successful - on holidays their mother had to take a loan for so they could go and "get woke". Tossers.

But, it is all so accessible, so much fun to watch people live their life and do things that we only dream about because unfortunately for us, our mother's don't pay for holidays and we live in a world with bills and taxes, fucked up families, violent cities and countries, with illnesses and kids who need new shoes - or a million other things that people in the real world have to worry about daily.

But hey, life sucks because the Steem blockchain doesn't cover the cost of my life.

Don't people get it, this is the changce to save ourselves in a way that most of us will never have in the world that currently is but, people would rather live in oppression and scarcity than participate in the work required to change it.

I think I will end my rant here as I have work tomorrow.

In 28 days we will hardfork for the 21st time and I am quite confident that whatever issues it causes, 28 days later, we will still be okay.

Have a little fun.

:)

This is my blockchain fun. Some people take it far too seriously.

Provided that the new hardfork will bring in new innovation to the blockchain , I can see positive innovation taking place now on the steem blockchain

I'm in this for the long haul so let the chip and bitching fall where they may. Personally I am looking forward to the accounts who claim unfairness to either accept changes or move on. ( But probably stick around and complain)

it's kind of like our cold winter's where I am from, sure it may suck at times but it keeps lot of the trouble makes and at Bay.

Is there a sight I can read about the upcoming changes? It would be nice to get a glimpse of what's to come.

Is there a sight I can read about the upcoming changes?

Follow @steemitblog for their updates and, the comments sections hold a lot of valuable information.

Thanks - I spent the morning reading the comments and think I have a better understanding of how things work and how things could or should work in the future. I even started following a few of the writers of the comments that seem to have a better grasp on this entire process then most.

Thanks again for your suggestion

No worries. Make sure you do a little background research on those you can trust with information and perspective. @smooth and @gtg are good to look for in the comment sections.

God dam fucking retards with a giant sense of entitlement in the announcement post:

"we don't even know how the testing is going"

"omg, a deadline, why not put a gun to the witnesses head"

"wtf, so it's all up in the air until a super-majority forms consensus and adapts the changes, why even put a deadline"

Zero tolerance for these idiots.

And speaking of idiots, @lordbutterfly is giving suggestions about a feature he's incapable of figuring out, reasoning that anything under a post is the property of the author of said post, literally saner shut that the ex-postmodernist, saved by mockery but can't handle mild ridicule, almost certain either a pimp or a prostitute (magnificent career choice idiot) wanted to reason.

Fucktards all of them.

I noticed some of those comments there, but they are coming from the same people on every post - yet they don't seem to ever take the replies given and investigate further. Most don't have the foggiest of what a HF involves yet, they want to be able to influence it.

Yeah. God damn fucking retard idiots pieces of shit and scumbags.

😂😂😂

I wonder when ill see you taraz drop down to that level of rethoric over disagreement in opinion. 😂😂

Only off mic ;D

No, nobody said anything about your general behavior, which is what "scumbag" and "piece of shit" remarks on. If I see something conducive to idiots like idiotic nonthought opinions, you better believe that I'll do the right thing and offer you my unabridged piece of mind, anything else is condoning idiocy, silence when one should speak out means being complicit, idiocy remarks on intelligence / intellectual level, not on anything else.

Like you say Steem needs to constantly be updating and evolving to gain better traction and keep up with the competition. Some people think we’ve won because Steem isn’t really contested as a social crypto platform but I’d say we’re losing because we haven’t proved it’s a worth platform to contest(I think it is but I’m not the majority).

It takes time and in a decentralized place where people like to argue a bout trivialities, things take even longer.

Yea, I definitely agree there. Infighting is definitely a problem in a decentralised social network. Even in a centralised one it can kill the network.

The benefit on Steem is that the challenge of decentralization can be limited to the Steem blockchain and the communities and tokens can hold a more centralized line to service their users. This decentralizes the environment and offers tailored experiences.

What doesn't die, becomes stronger. 21 times says plenty of the sustainability!

It is going to make for some entertaining reading once the HF drops.

You're upping the drama to new levels! Have a DRAMA.

Amanda sometimes surprises me with a bottle of this chocolate-orange liqueur she knows I love.
I enjoy it immensely, but I think your occasional diatribes are even more exquisite. Just delicious.

A little bit of a fun rant never goes astray. So many are taking this all so seriously and then wondering why they don't enjoy themselves.

chocolate -orange liqueur? :)

It has been a long time since I have had Jaffas.....

@galenkp there's one for the next care package, mate.

If he's lucky he'll get half a packet...The Jaffa tax and all you know. 😊

Speak of the devil. Guess what I got today :)

Score! 🤣

I easily could have gone with a simple resteem and one of my jester cryptic jokes and short comments that nobody grasp on the steem blockchain. But nah! no avail. After reading this article, I had to write my own post about these 'dramatic' matters.
