20,000 posts under the chain
This morning I noticed that I was getting pretty close to one of these nice round numbers that everyone with OCD likes so much and this post is going to be the one that ticks it over. This my 2640th top level post but, it will become my 20,000th post on the Steem blockchain which is pretty cool.

Party like it's nineteen ninety nine nine
Since I haven't been available so much the last few days due to real life work getting in the way of my Steem activity, I spent some time catching up on comments. I try to answer all comments I get and reward them for taking the time to actually make a comment since, that is a decent way to get a little distribution and some more transactions travelling along the chain.
I asked in a post the other day what was happening with the drop off on comments and thought maybe it was because of @drugwars drawing attention but, I found out from @shepz1 what the deal was.

Thanks for the clarification mate.
20,000 posts in the 752 days I have been on the platform equals 26.5 posts a day and top level averages 3.5 a day over the same period. So, I am making 23 comments on average a day. While some people seem to not have a lot of fun here, I find that the engagement is a part of the reason or perhaps, it is the type of engagement people partake in. Those that take everything seriously here are likely in for a rough time as, are those who spend most of their time arguing about various this and that about Steem.
I like talking about Steem stuff a lot too but, many just like the popcorn drama of it, not actually spending much time working out what is going on or, what other options there might be. Many get stuck in the moment of it, the current rules of it and don't recognise that the rules have changed and will continue to change over time, given the time to change. Th is place has a long way to go and many want it to be there now, without knowing even what there looks like.
BTW... I fucked up.
This is my 20,000th post:

Well, maybe it is a better milestone comment than this post would have been anyway and, it was on @acidyo's AskSteem post asking to describe Steem in your own words. Acid is one of the people who encouraged me to spend more time commenting and engaging way back when, once upon a time in a land that seems far, far distant. He has helped me with a lot of things on Steem over the time, as have many others.
I am one of those bizarre people (according to some) who have a lot of confidence in what Steem could become in the future and think that it has a very good chance of getting there. What there is to me is a place where Steem can house all kinds of different communities that leverage the Steem infrastructure in various ways so that they can control their own accounts and, empower themselves and others to live a somewhat better life through improved information flow, as well as improved personal economics.
While it could all crash and burn or, the rules could drastically change, I do think that we are heading in the right direction and a time where an increasing amount of people have better access to the world will arrive. At the very least, Steem is part of the global conversation that is taking place and getting increasingly noisy. There is value in being part of that conversation in my opinion. But, not all conversations are valuable.
With my decreased time recently, I am going to likely start engaging less in some ways and more in others, reallocate some of my time resources. Time is very precious to me and I think that while there are people here wasting their time, I don't have to spend my time in the same way. For me, I would rather be part of conversations that improve my experience and hopefully, those of other people too. Some people are just resource black holes.
Speaking of time, that is the cue for me to stop as tomorrow is another full day of the day to day and today was already full enough. So, I won't bore you anymore with my 20,001st post.
Enjoy your evening.

:D gratz on 20k!
i'm closing in on a goal I've been attempting to reach for almost 3 years, pass my reddit karma in SP! After that not sure what I should make my next goal, maybe be less OCD about numbers. :P
Don't buy a car, you will drive just to get zeroes on the odometer.
Talking of Reddit Karma. If communities could be imported from Reddit to tokenbb, an SMT token could be issued 1:1 with Karma and then used as community currency. Would be interesting to see if it could become valuable.
Congrats on your achievement . I don’t know how you do your posts because some require lots of research. I had to take you off my autovote because you were draining my mana! 😂😂😂.

hey blanchy on steemrewarding.com you can set tags & include apps so for you, you could write in tags for instance 'shit that blanchy likes' and when tarazkp uses that tag presto auto upvote! hmm i should take my own advice lol
Lol yeah. It is why I don't get a lot of autovoters (and the boring part of course) but there are vote limiters now i think that can set the max in 24 hours etc. I don't know though because I am a manual only voter.
When it comes to the research, it depends on the post as I have a fair bit of experience in some areas so it is kind of available to me. As soon as numbers are involved... it takes forever though :D
I have less steem than him so the odds on him using that tag are between slim and none @michaelb . 😂 But I will look into this as it has given me some ideas. @cryptoandcoffee everytime you mention "chinese" or "pissing in a bottle" I will auto upvote you! 😂
THATS A LOT!!! And it seems you wrote even more comments per day, because I bet you didnt steem on Christmas or other special days.... ah maybe you did :-D However, thats quite an average and a huge envolvement. Congrats!
Umm... yeah, I haven't missed a day in over 1.5 years :D
Steemdicted :-D
Also I laughed out loud when I read the shepz1 comment.
Me too. It made my night. =)
That @shepz1, he's a character!
Congrats!
I see you and shepz1 meet at steemfest.
That is one hell of an achievement in 2 years.
Lol, I don't think so but, who knows :D
Wow, 20k blows my mind :O But I'm not surprised, coming from you. Here's to 20k more? Congrats ;)
20,000 more feels like an insane amount to me but, one day.
congrats tarazkp. still waiting for your actifit posts:)
First I have to be active, then get fit... then I am good to go :D
Pffffffft the caption under your lead image XD
20k wow that's a whole pile of posts. According to one of the pie charts in the SteemPeak analytical thingi you're one of my most voted and I don't even upvote all your stuff just the stuff I like or comment on and generally don't miss (oops I mean you're totally boring and I don't like talking to you XD). Well done being a massive prolificator of good stuff XD
And I think your actual 20kth post/comment thing was probably better than the milestone post being the 20kth thing :)
I can't remember if I commented on the post where you noticed a dropoff in comments. I've noticed a dropoff in posting in general as I have a really large follow list but with the dearth of people posting I can usually "catch up" pretty easily over the course of the day (though because of stuff I'm kind of back to being a dust vote spatter cannon). I noticed the comment dearth less because there's only a handful of people that comment whenever I get around to posting anyway :)
I agree, I think this would have been a crappy one :D
Yeah, there are a lot of people that moved over ton Drugwars for a little earning and fun. I take it as a good sign for things to come :)
Congratulations! @tarazkp
By the way my posts count is 12,761

12,761 is high. There really aren't so many up there I think.
