Well, 3Speak is awesome, but not for me as someone who does gaming videos for fun. But DTube wasn't all that there yet, so I didn't really have a place to call home on Steem. I loved it and its potential, but I was waiting for a day when something came out that was perfect for me. Well, the day came with the new DTube update. I've always been excited about developments here, but now that something speaks directly to me I can't contain my excitement for this blockchain. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling it, everything's starting to come together.
I am glad the steem ecosystem is so robust, there is something for everyone. We pushed 3speak our before we were fully prepared. If you look on 3speak, you will see a lot of people who were either on steem and quit a long time ago, or new content creators who were never on steem. If we had opened to the masses, with the quality we provide, we would have failed before even getting a chance. 3speak will be open to everyone, but there was a reason we did what we did, and if we didn’t, maybe we lose some of the big time creators we already landed to the likes of dlive/bittube.

Oh yeah, when 3Speak opens up for everyone I definitely see myself using that as well. DTube's direction is being a hub for all of your media content. Right now I'm using Youtube to host my videos, but that's like building on a quicksand. All it takes is one game developer who doesn't like you making videos of their games and your channel gets shut down with no means of fighting back. I've seen it happen plenty of times and have had close calls myself. That's not a good place to build your foundation. I'd rather use 3Speak for something like that. So in the future I'll probably be using both DTube and 3Speak. :)
