SteemJ by @jerrybanfield | What is it? And Why it Matters!

in #steem7 years ago

So, @jerrybanfield if you don't already know, is an awesome person and mainly a internet teacher and informer. He's been on the internet for quite awhile, and he joined steemit, May of this year. And has recently brought up a idea, an idea to expand the steem platform even more! With....

SteemJ.com

Ever heard of the website fiverr? Well, if not here's an official description of the fiverr platform.

Fiverr is the world's largest freelance services marketplace for lean entrepreneurs to focus on growth & create a successful business at affordable costs.

So, you can sell your service's like graphic design, writing, music and more! To people that need your service's, for a price that you want. And what @jerrybanfield wants to do is create this type of service offering on the steem platform! Check out this prototype that @sarasate has created of jerry's idea : http://steemj.insteem.com/ | Ands he want's it to be just as easy to get hired for a job and posting a job on SteemJ to be just as easy as posting on Steemit!

This really could be something magical for all the freelancers and people that need those freelance services. And would give them a reason to join steemit, the steem platform has already proven to do social media and blogging really well with Steemit.com. So why not a freelancers platform too? I really think jerry has something here.

SteemJ would open the steem currency to more people and increase the demand for it! And eventually provide a big reason for places like coinbase and bitstamp to add steem as a buying option. To use paypal, credit cards and bank account to purchase steem with ease through those exchanges!

Let's go over some of the promises and launch features they plan to do.

Heres a list of the launch features that they plan to have :

Developer key objectives for initial launch of SteemJ.

  1. Sign in via Steemit account and posting key as ChainBB by @jesta allows at https://beta.chainbb.com/.

  2. Make posts within SteemJ in a web browser similar to https://busy.org by @ekitcho and @fabien with the ability to schedule posts and either immediately or eventually collect a percentage of author rewards all going to the developer.

  3. Offer a homepage similar to http://news.insteem.com/ where browsing jobs, freelancers, steemgigs, and SteemJ posts is easy which also explains the purpose of SteemJ and has space for a YouTube tutorial I will create showing how to use it.

  4. Allow every profile page from steemit to be displayed as a profile on SteemJ as featured above.

  5. Google analytics tracking on all pages.

  6. Secure browsing with https.

And future feature's

  1. Find help page for tracking freelancers most recently online and interested in working.

  2. Browse jobs page for showing most recent new jobs posted.

  3. Allow users to manually manage adding posts about steemgigs, jobs complete, and now hiring to their profile.

  4. Integrated private messaging without having to sign up for any third party service. This alone would make SteemJ worth using even without caring about the freelancing features.

  5. Track SteemJ earnings and spending from memos sent that include SteemJ.

  6. Enable each user to write a custom profile description different from what is on Steemit.

  7. Refer a friend bonus offering 2% of the author rewards from bringing any new friend in which would drop the developer fee to 3% on a referral sign up.

Okay so thats all of the current plans, and i want to touch on some of them. First, right off the bat i love the idea, of having SteemJ integrated with my Steemit account as said in the developer key objectives. It would really encourage the large number of people using steemit to sign up on SteemJ and provide a service or purchase a service.

Sign in via Steemit account and posting key as ChainBB by @jesta allows at https://beta.chainbb.com/.

And from the future features most of them are great! But, i really love the last one refer a friend, because it would really help to advertise SteemJ a lot more, and bring in people that are really good at promoting referrals like @craig-grant and @trevonjb!

Refer a friend bonus offering 2% of the author rewards from bringing any new friend in which would drop the developer fee to 3% on a referral sign up.

And thats why i am rooting for SteemJ to succeed and become a reality. I know i would use SteemJ a lot, being a photoshop worker and music lover. I would sell my photoshop's work and would hire a musician to make the music i want.

So let me know what you think of jerry's idea? Would it work, and would people use it? Thanks

I have been following the matter since its inception and it is super cool to see it grow on so many levels. Thanks a bunch for sharing all this information and uprising one of our precious Steemian.

All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

Thanks for reading. And dedicating time to the project and following it, i am really looking forward to it!

@surprisebit love your review of SteemJ and upvoted 100%! I think it is easier to understand the way you explain it!

Thanks it means a lot coming from you. Good luck with SteemJ, i'll be sure to stay up to date!

Using existing posts as content for another platform is penalizing all the community on Google Search Engine.

Publishing the same content on mulpiple domains is HIGHly penalized by Google and it's actually consider:

bad practice
content duplication
no professional software

For these reasons I will never support SteemJ or any alternative User Interface to SteemIt.com since Google one day could be the ally n.1 for the community

Steemit.com have the potential to be the website n.1 in the world, better than wordpress, than youtube or blogspot.
