MySteem - The Steem Cockpit || An Imaginary Look Into The Future

in #steem7 years ago (edited)
Hold the vision, trust the process.

With the launch of Smart Media Tokens and the diversification of the Steem blockchain, soon we're going to have a colourful landscape of tokenized web applications in front of us.

A network of smart applications, built on the very same technological basis with open, decentralized and self-sustaining eco-systems will provide internet users everything they need in order to build, create, share, curate and distribute information on a worldwide level.

Reason enough to think about possible ways to structure all the information that's going to be distributed in this fast growing network.

Here's how a Steem cockpit of the future may look like!

Here's how all our smartphone displays may look like in the near future

Let's imagine a future Steem control center

While we may perfectly imagine how to organize Android or iOS applications in our smartphones, it'll be interesting to see how multiple web applications can be managed online.

Whenever I think about the future vision of Steem, the launch of Smart Media tokens and the introduction of multiple web applications to the Steem blockchain, I imagine something like a control center - a Steem browser - from where we're able to access all our favourite Steem projects in the way we want.

All the information generated in the Steem network would be bundled at one single place.

What if we had a Steem cockpit from where we could organize and control all the content and information distributed and shared within the Steem network according to our own fields of interest?

How @surfermarly's future MySteem account could look like: #surfing everywhere :-)

MySteem: A personalized content cockpit where information is provided according to my needs

That's at least how my vision of Steem looks like.

There will be multiple applications launched on the Steem blockchain in the near future, and the amount of shared information and content will be overwhelming. That's why I believe that we should think about an application like a browser that could help us to organize, structure, find and share content within the global Steem network.

All the applications built on the Steem blockchain are and will be using the same database, that's why connecting them with each other through a universal interface might be very contributive in terms of user experience and user activity. The more I enjoy my user experience, the higher my engagement.

An improved user experience will also lead to a better user retention.

Currently the gap between the total amount of newly created Steemit accounts and the number of active users in the network is growing, which means that the retention is decreasing.

Probably a smart content organization could be one step to improve these numbers. If we were able to personalize the Steem experience then everybody could consume content created on Steem in the way they like. That in combination with the announced community feature could be really a game changer!

Obviously, I just built a photoshopped castle in the air. But isn't that the way ideas are born most of the time?

Maybe one of the future apps built on this blockchain will be a browser, who knows?

Let's dream big though!
Best, Marly -

I agree with you about having some kind of browser or control center. Vastly improving post visibility is pretty much essential for Steemit and likely every other platform currently or to be built on the Steem blockchain if there is a desire to gain and retain users, and thus grow. Organizing the content is definitely a part of improving visibility. Communities would be another if it actually gets implemented. Having millions coming aboard and then dropping off would not be good. There needs to be a place for people to go and find their niche.

Very cool!

DSurf eh? :D

I don't think you are too far off the mark here, some people may have DPorn, but not me of course :)

And my favourite photoshopping.......

:D :D

Haha, I think I wouldn't be much into DPorn either :-D
Actually the comment displayed in the Comment inbox is one of yours, but it's so tiny that you can't see it. Wanted to somehow have you included in "MySteem" :-)

Chances are, one/some of the awesome developers on steemit (i.e. @blockbrothers) are working like crazy to make this happen.

Having a post like this as a loose set of requirements will likely help them immensely. Let's hope that the right set of eyes fall upon this post. (Resteemed this one to get to more eyes)

I have it bookmarked 😉

Thanks for your lovely support!
I'm pretty sure that they're all working hard on their Steem projects, besides @blockbrothers I'd also like to mention @utopian-io. We'll here a lot from them in the future!

I had thought of something like that several times. an app for smartphones and desketop devices with a surface that unites all steem apps, with a chat system, notifications and maybe even on a 3d surface for smartphones and tablets where you can adjust it as desired and swipe back and forth between the different steemit-apps and tools...
maybe something like that will come one day through our steemit-devs :)

Great minds think alike :-)

maybe even on a 3d surface for smartphones and tablets where you can adjust it as desired and swipe back and forth between the different steemit-apps and tools...

That sounds perfect to me!
I'm pretty sure we'll have a solution close to our ideas in the future.

This dream soon will come true.

Well i also agree with your reply and its nice steeming

Yeah!!! And I like your Dsurf logo ;-)

It's actually my surfermarly logo (see above in the signature). But I'd love to see a Surf application built on the Steem blockchain some day, where we can create a network of surfers and their spots all over the globe. That would be huge!

Yeah... I thought you were working on some kind of surf-app, haha ;-)
You should add "dMannequins" ... a decentralized platform for all my fellows mannequins, haha.

This is so awesome! People just need to be patient! We are building something amazing here on the Steem blockchain. All these apps on our mobile devices! I am working on building a community of hunters, fishers and firearms enthusiasts @MyHuntingFishing. Eventually if things go well, I want to re-establish the social network that once existed and use SMTs to power it.

Is this like your official announcement?! Dude! That's a great idea. From what I've been reading, SMT's are still another hardfork away, but since we don't have HF20 yet, who knows. Maybe they'll just wait to combine it all! Okay, probably not. Good luck!

Means I have time to build up @myhuntingfishing before SMTs show up! Thank you!

Never Loose Hope to see the current position of market, be hopeful calm and HODLE. Future is bright.

That's steemit app am seeing ,, lovely

I’m very new to Steemit. I am currently using the website and not an app to use it so I guess that shows how much I know LOL. (Looks like I have some more research to do!) Just being on here for a couple days though I already see a future of mass adoption. I have gotten so many friends signed up in the past 10 days and just their excitement alone makes me extremely optimistic about the future. Part of me is kicking myself for not discovering Steemit it sooner but the other part of me is happy that I joined before the rest of the world did!
