Get a successful Steemit post with a ton of upvotes
Below some tips which may help you receive more upvotes on your post.
1- Always add an image. Adding an image on your post may be the reason that you caught the eye of way more visitors. Of course your images should be relative to your posts and not just some eye-catching shit.
2- Post an interesting story or a trending topic. It is rational for a Steemit user to be interested in recent news or unique experience described by you. Posting something which is important but happened two weeks ago isn't the key to a successful post.
3- Stay away from the crowd. With this, I mean that you should avoid posting content which is already shared by a million of members on Steemit. if you do this you are bound to fail. Post something rare or something that none knows about. If you follow this, you have already gained a notable amount of readers.
4- Post high quality shit. What I mean is that you should care for the grammar and whether your content is understandable or not. Avoid posting silly news which are handy and took you two seconds to be write. In addition always remember checking and fixing the mistakes of your post.
5- Be an active user. You should explore other people' opinions and experiences and share your ideas. You should remember to write comments and generaly interact with the community. if you do this the community will interact with you.
I'd appreciate if you have any others tips to add. Lmk and I may add them in this post.
Thank you for your feedback.

Hi @patrickve. I've put together an ever growing list of resources and there are a couple that discuss formatting and image posting.

You should firstly use the editor mode. In the line where you select bold, italic etc there is an image. Press this button and paste the link.
You can use special service like a ImgSafe or personal cloud storage DropBox for upload. Then just paste a link on your picture in post\comment.
A free version of this is puu.sh and it's fairly fast, screengrab using a built-in shortcut on your computer and it automagically uploads it to a private space and provides a shared link...like this:
