Why you should not buy iPhone 11

I will not argue that the iPhone 11 is a bad smartphone. In no case! This is a great modern device. Just now, if you go to the store and buy a new means of communication with the apple on the back wall, I would opt for the iPhone XR, and there are several reasons for this.

You say that the camera will be better in the new iPhone? I agree - it's hard to argue with that. That's just how it works in practice, you still need to check, but, as usual, you should not believe the pictures from the Apple website. All of them are processed so that a similar result can be obtained by taking a photo even on a smartphone for 200 USD. I'm not even saying that these photos can not be taken at all on the iPhone.

As you know, from time to time some brands mess with this issue and do not scorch so sickly. Even if the iPhone 11 camera is better than that of the iPhone XR, it’s difficult to say that the difference will be fundamental. Anyway, she will not shoot very well in the dark and with shaking. They promise us that yes, but believe me, no. I do not seek to belittle the dignity of the camera of the iPhone 11, but this is physics that can not be fooled. Even the appearance of the second module, it is more tinsel, which may work, or may not work, and a little cunning. For example, at the start of sales, we were told that the iPhone XR camera with blurring the background can only shoot a person. We tried, and with blur, even ordinary objects turned out. But why do we need to know that this is achieved not due to the second module of a more expensive smartphone, but due to the depth of field of the camera itself.

Another undoubted advantage of the iPhone 11 relative to the iPhone XR will be the ability to dive with it to a depth of 2 meters. It sounds cool, but only before you read the posts about the warranty on the water-protected iPhone. According to it, the warranty does not apply to internal components affected by contact with water. Even if it is a marriage of a laying, go prove it.

On the one hand, this is logical, since a smartphone can be dropped and thereby violate the density of the assembly, but on the other hand, any smartphone can be sold this way. Just say that you can dive with him and he will continue to work, just add “but it’s not accurate” at the end, and the question is closed. I know people who have suffered from water entering the iPhone and have not received any warranty, even under the extended AppleCare program.

It turns out that this is also a dubious advantage. What then can tip the scales in the direction of new items? Better performance? No, even in the iPhone 8 it is more than enough for everyday tasks. Other minor improvements? It is unlikely, since there is nothing fundamentally new there. Screens are completely identical in all respects. But the iPhone XR has one very significant plus, which is difficult to argue with.

The cost of the new iPhone

Right after the release of the new generation of iPhone, Apple reduces the prices of those models of previous generations that remain on sale. So it happened this time.

Although the iPhone 11 is positioned as a completely new phone, when compared with the iPhone XR, for me the second is preferable. The main difference between the new items lies in the camera (front and dual back), but the quality of the pictures on the iPhone XR suits me more than completely. Like battery life. And given the difference in price, the past generation is becoming even more attractive.

If you need a truly advanced camera, then you need to lay an even bigger budget and buy the iPhone 11 Pro. Although, he also needs to be dealt with, but his camera will definitely be better than the iPhone 11.
