A few weeks ago, @Steemitblog released a post to the effect that the code for HF21 was now completed. This shows that HF21 is no longer a matter of speculation, it is a reality that will soon come upon us.
Personally, I have done my best to educate myself about the implications of HF21, that is, how the changes that come with it will affect me either positively or negatively. Consequently, I read whatever article that comes my way as long as it has something to say about HF21.
Recently, I found that HF21 will make changes to the curation window as we presently know it. This change will radically adjust the curation window from the present 15 minutes mark to a 1 minute mark.
The implication, put simply, is that curators will get their full rewards if and when they vote after the first 1 minute following the publication of a post. This means that curators would not have to wait for the first fifteen minutes before they qualify to earn curation rewards.
Of course, this will encourage human curation while giving more powers and rewards to the curators whose investment in Steem Power sustains this platform. The only reason why Steem is still worth anything today is because we have stakeholders who have refused to liquidate their stake.
If you ask me, giving more powers to curators will project the image of Steem as an investment rather than a free token that anyone can easily earn and dump on the exchanges whenever they feel the urge of doing so.
In conclusion, it is my belief that adjusting the curation window to a one minute mark will increase engagement, incentivize curators, make bid bots more unattractive, and make Steem more competitive.
