SMT Development Update #3
Hello Steemians, welcome to the 3rd installment of our progress report on SMT development. In addition to the 0.20.6 release on Wednesday, we’ve had steady progress on SMTs this week.
SMT scope added this week:
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3100 - Remove vesting_liquid_less Class
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3103 - Basic Functionality of Delegation Pools
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3113 - Transaction Status Plugin State
SMT work completed last week:
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/2886 - NAI Generation
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3057 - Bug in Asset
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/2558 - Transaction Polling API
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3085 - Plugin State Information
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/2870 - Generate Blocks With Automated Actions
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/2725 - Create a New Token
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/2720 - Automated Action Validators
- https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3113 - Transaction Status Plugin State
The blue dots symbolize the number of points that we have completed for SMT development. For those who don’t know, assigning “Story Points” is part of Agile Software Development. They are a “unit of measure for expressing an estimate of the overall effort that will be required to fully implement a product backlog item or any other piece of work” and determined by using a Fibonacci Scale.
As you can see, with HF20 even farther in the rear view mirror, we have been able to accelerate our SMT development velocity toward the desired trend line which would result in an on-time delivery for the SMT TestNet in January.
Our goal with this series is to bring even more transparency to the development process of Smart Media Tokens. In addition to these weekly reports, you can follow along on our GitHub project organization and tracking system for SMT development which is (usually) updated daily.
The Steem Blockchain Team
Impressive, good to get more abstract information on a regular basis. If there is people and room for it, would be over the top with a 15 minutes video regularly as well. Maybe answering questions that has come in during last time.
Transparency is so important for all of us, and all of you - and I just want to congratulate you all for making the "keep up with development"-experience thrilling.
Thank you very much, please feel free to also join us on @steemspeak 24/7 all year or whenever you want. We are mostly active during American business and evening hours in the voice channel.
Thumbs Up :)
Videos, hmm. Interesting idea ;)
Good suggestion Fyrstikken! Yep more video, more people talking, more communication. I'm waiting for Steemit to break the 4th wall and engage with the audience rather than speak to them.
That said, this is excellent progress.
Nice job and thank you for keeping us current on the development.

Nice one!
Getting closer to that red line! Keep it up!
Here are my thoughts on steemit inc
hahah jsust kidding, You go get em sport!
Why, @ned isnt an NPCeo at all, nah hes a real playable character
What's happening with openledger and huobi exchanges?
Great work you are doing @ned and the Steem Blockchain Team. I can see a noticeable head-rise in the blue line (actual completed tasks towards SMT development) towards the expected trend. Congratulations.
I want to expect your announcements on user suggestion towards SMT development in the subsequent weeks. I think viable communities in steemit can be asked to send in a communicae as per their thoughts concerning the SMT development. SMT is community-driven and thus should have a community spice in its development.
The transparency is great! Awesome progress! That blue doted line is turning nicely. Thanks for the update!
Nice to witness the progress of STEEM
Ohhh bam this was a productive week 😉
