Quick Status Update
This is a brief update that will be followed by a more in depth update shortly. We have completed the code for the economic changes and will be making the final implementation available for review between now and Tuesday. On Tuesday we will make a release (unless issues are found during review). The hard fork will be 1 week from Tuesday assuming witnesses accept the changes.
We apologize for lack of communication this past week.
Thank you for this update. I'd like to urge you to make a habit of communicating brief updates like this. It doesn't take long, but it sends healthy signals to the community and helps nurture faith in the platform and trust in the leadership.

I'm really starting to get a powerful sense of organisation, dedication and hard work going on under the hood. The iceberg analogy has never felt more fitting. Just keep at it, everyone is doing amazingly well to analyse, develop, adapt, build, innovate, reach out and post. That's everyone from whales to witnesses, minnows to investors. It's very uplifting.

Is it fair to say the primary reason for lack of communication was SteemFest?
We also wanted to delay our longer post while we collected stats and mathematical models on the impact of the proposed changes. We should have provided an intermediate update explaining what was happening.

In our effort to improve communication we have implemented a peer review process that has gotten desired communication stuck waiting on people traveling. The past few days we have been reviewing things internally in prep for a post today. Perfection has been the enemy of timely communication.
