This is great now to get the world to start adopting

With the increased workload that this would cause the network will we need to scale and are there scaling plans in the works

Is there actually a hardfork required to enable SMTs ?

I hope this means that you will put even MORE effort into developing steem, if this is the example for the next generations of media sharing that you are proposing.
Nice presentation by the way!

Awesome!

wow thats great

great news ! Could we have more informations ?

I can't bring myself to wade through another 50 page whitepaper. Any chance of a summary? That would definitely get my vote :-)

At a glance, half of the paper is technical specifications. You can get by on the first 10-20 pages it looks like - and I'd suggest that this is important enough to make time for.

Yeah you're right, my weekend reading slot is filled! I'm sure I should be excited, but I don't really know why yet :-D

on this page there is a walk through of the basic idea...

You can check out the website summary: https://smt.steem.io/

That is a painfully long whitepaper...

These things could potentially Steemitize sites like YouTube.

That's huge!

Why has the money made on this post been crossed out?

The author chose to decline payouts for this post. Quite often, employees of steemit choose to decline payouts in order to leave those rewards in the pool for other users. Another good reason to decline payouts is if you are reposting material that isn't yours. You may want to share the information but do not feel you should earn rewards for someone else's work.

Thanks for explaining. It's good people are being honourable.

This is awesome! :) Looking forward to get more info and read the whitepaper!

Launching soon in 2018

Is it possible to get slightly more accurate dates or time frames instead of "soon" and an entire year-long window? Is this expected to launch in Q1...Q3...?

hopefully sometime after hf20 and if we're lucky 1.0 is still in the picture somewhere
