Steemit Communication Process & Advices for Minnows

Well after the World War 2 and with the development of Mass Communication Devices , Obviously the popularity of Communication Sciences increased rapidly. Today I'm going to explain you main features of a social media according to communication Studies. Let me start with a basic communication Model.

Shannon and Weaver's Model Of Communication

In order to understand complex communication model in Social Media , lets start with a more linear and engineer made model. Well as you can understand there is a Sender(Encoder) and a Medium(Steemit) and a Receiver(Decoder) . Noise is the every obstacle your message faced during the transmitting process and at the end you will get a feedback whether your message was a success or not.

Sender : In this case it is you , Sender decides how to encode the message decides the language and also which medium is going to be used in sending Process.
Channel : In our case this is Steemit , Channel is the mostly device or a platform you want to send your message through
Noise : Well this is the most important thing , This is your nightmare when you are trying to make your message reach to audience. Noise is basicly everything that prevents your message to be succesfull
Receiver : This is your Audience and Who you want to reach with your encoded message.
Feedback: Well I think everyone is familiar with feedback mechanicsm. However if your message is decoded you will most likely to receive some Feedback from Audience in our case it is upvotes or comments

Lets Learn About our Social Platform First

Steemit is a decentralized social news website and forum where stories are socially curated and promoted by site members. The site is composed of hundreds of sub-communities with tags. Each tags has a its own user base for example life, photography or economics . Steemit site members, also known as, "Steemians," submit content which is then voted upon by other members. The goal is to send decent posts and try to be top at trending page and earn some money.

Social Media Integration Theory

This is an updated version of the Communication Model for Social Media. As you can see here there are new terms like Social Networking , Exposure and Sharing. Social Media Integration Theory is not a linear model and there are tons of things needed to be talk about Steemit

Exposure

Well this is the main problem I see in the platform. If you are a Minnow started to Steemit. I'm pretty sure you are going to complain about your views a lot. Because Steemits New Segment is not fully functional

Well 10-20 posts getting posted in every 30 seconds in Steemit so we can define this problem as a Noise if you don't have enough follower count and Network it is most likely that your post is going to be disappear to oblivion. So people need to scrolldown to 4-5 times to findout about your post after a minute if they are not your followers.

Sharing(Resteems)

Well this is another key factor in Social Media Integration Theory but it also doesn't work a lot in Steemit. Because who is going to Resteem you if they can't see your post in New Segment ? In that case you just need to be lucky to be seen by some Curators otherwise if your quality is not really really good nobody is going to bother for Resteeming. You don't lose anything by resteeming but appareantly for some reasons it is really hard to get some in Steemit. People should encourage users to resteem any slightly decent content to motivate new users.

Main Solution to 0 $ Syndrome is Social Networking

Well many of the friends quitted the platform after couple of weeks. The reasons were simple I'm earning 0 $ Nobody Sees my post and Everyone on Trending pages got more votes then views.

In Social Media Integration Theory there is also something called Networking. Well this one is perfectly working fine in Steemit. If you are a new user who wants to be succesfull and get in touch with community. I highly reccomend you to work on community projects. There are many great and skilled individuals in Steemit. Forget about your post rewards and engage with the community. Just work in projects eventually you are going to have fun using Steemit. I don't think the system of tags and new segment is going to change soon , therefore as a minnow socializing with people and working on community projects might be your only chance in the road of success. There are ofcourse exceptions and very skilled people in platform. If you think your content is superb , Steemit is going to do the rest and reward you . You can just post if you are a people with exceptional skills.

Platforms for Social Networking

If you are a new user and you don't know what to do I highly reccomend using Steemit.chat and also don't hesitate to hop in Discord channels of the communities . There are really kind people willing to help you in your integration process. Just start with #general or you can enter any channel according to your interest. If you want to have healthy relationships in Steemit socializing is the key.

Communities that help Minnows

There are tons but really tons of people willing to help you in your Steemit Journey. I was lucky enough to have really good Yoda's in my Steemit journey. Also there are a lot of communities that support authors. I'm going to mention two of them because I involved in both

Sndbox Incubator Project

Well Well, I think Sndbox might be the first real community guild on steemit. An actual community that is composed of multiple geographies and multiple talents. They are still young but they are dedicated to achieve their goal. If you are a new author with some skills. I highly reccomend checking @sndbox because incubator project is really interesting and beneficial for new users.

Minnow Support Project

The Minnow Support Project is a Witness initiative designed to form a community around new Steemit users to help them grow, find support, and as an avenue toward financial success. Their main motto is Peace , Abundance , Liberty. Well if you are having problems about Steemit and If you want to ask your questions to the veteran Steemit users this is a great place for you. Some Final Words

Well I can understand that it is hard to achieve your goals in this platform. I also think it is impossible to get views and votes. To be honest I don't enjoy posting anymore but what enjoy most is networking. Steemit provided me ability to talk really skilled inviduals but If you wan't to earn reasonable amount by posting. These tips I gave you won't make you sad. There are lots of people helping minnows don't hesitate to ask for help ! It is not a petty move. Eventhough you don't earn something now If you work systematically and socialize you will eventually have a solid place in Community !
