A bit of a belated update from the Foundation this week.

EIN Obtained

We are happy to announce that the Steem Foundation has been assigned its EIN (tax identification number) by the Federal Government. This is a great achievement as we are now a legal entity and we are happy to report that this key milestone has been reached.

Next Steps

We are currently looking at our banking options. We seek a reputable bank that will grant us the high level of service we require while being tolerant of our obvious affiliation with cryptocurrency. We are currently in the process of doing due diligence on several banking options.

As a non-profit, we are also in the process of applying for free services and tools available to the non-profit sector. These include value-added powerful tools like Salesforce which we hope to use for optimising donor management and communication. Our goal, as we have noted in our previous posts, is to set up for success the Board of Directors that will fill our seats once the initialisation is complete. To do that, we must leverage our experience to equip them with as much as possible.
