Being supportive of non-crypto posts on Steemit

in #steem9 years ago (edited)

Before Steemit came along I had nowhere to share or discuss crypto-news.. and nobody ever  knows what I'm talking about when I say Bitcoin.

So I was happy to find a crypto family here on Steemit, but I think if Steemit is going to compete with Facebook and Twitter then we need to be more supportive of NON-crypto posts, and be checking in those tags too so we can be the site for ALL content.

Let me know what you think. Thanks :D

I actually only started learning about cryptocurrency from steemit and while I am loving learning about it I am in no position to talk about it yet as I am still learning but I love posting other things here. :)

I would actually prioritize non-crypto content. I'd love to see the site evolve beyond its techie roots. I tried to get a friend to join this evening, but she had a hard time with it because she couldn't even understand people's intro posts. For the site to become what we all want, we have to make it accessible... pretty much the opposite of everything else in the crypto sphere.

Yes steemit has been successful in getting the non-crytos over without them even realising it! The happy news is everybody out there thinks this is a new blogging platform which pays you without realising that the whole thing is based on cryptos. So they end up learning and get introduced to a new form of money. But the best part is while crypto was always considered a male dominated space, steemit has been successful in removing that "slur" by getting a lot of women into the space. Hail steemit for opening up the world to all beings, male or female!

There seems to be a lot of non-crypto stuff here. There are actually women here which are basically non-existent in ctrypto-land! : )
I have a Steemit question that you may be able to answer and it does deal with this topic in the long run at least. Let us take this blog post of yours. Can it still make money for you in a month? Lets says it dies down in a few days, but then suddenly in a month you find a way to promote it all over social media and suddenly all sorts of people are liking it and commenting on it again. I ask this question because it seems like people are not encouraged or inclined to find older posts.

I have also wondered this, and I know that on Steemit FAQ is states you only get rewarded on a video that you like the first 24 hours and will not keep getting paid like the author will.. but I've also liked a 3 week old video that must have refreshed because 24 hours later I still got paid for it.

Also check this out it shows how the pay outs work..

https://steemd.com/distribution

If you change steemit to steemd in the URL of any page yours or even any post you can see payout info.. distribution and alot of other information.. so mine would be https://steemd.com/@stealthtrader/

Wow that is very interesting. Thanks for providing Steem info! You are my goto man on this.

Right on brotha hit me up anytime!
