Guide: How to delegate to smartsteem and earn profit-shares

By delegating to smartsteem - you earn profit on the votes made through our bid-bot. We pay out 90% of the profits to our sponsors proportional to the delegated amount / total delegations. the amount can be lower right now due to the bid-bot being newly released and not yet listed on the bottracker

Some of you guys have already delegated but we had a few cases where the delegation model was misunderstood and delegations were cancelled with the goal to increase them afterwards. Sadly, this is not how delegations work on steem.

How to delegate to smartsteem

Step 1. Go to our Sponsors page

It all starts on our sponsors page with a click on the Delegate button. This will open up a window that looks like this:

YOUR NAME: In this field you need to put in your steem account.

DELEGATION STEEMPOWER: And here, you need to put in the amount of steempower you want to delegate.

There are two important delegation rules you have to understand

1.) There is always only 1(!) delegation active at a time on steem from delegator to delgatee. Which means: if you delegate 100 steempower to smartsteem - and after a while you want to delegate another one. Then you can't simply delegate another 100 steempower.

You should also not (!) cancel the delegation - by sending 0 steempower - and then sending 200 steempower. If you have enough steempower - you would delegate another 200. But the first 100 steempower will be stuck for 7 days.

This brings me to the second point:

2.) All delegations - after they are cancelled will be stuck for 7 days. This is a security measure implented by steem directly. So you have to keep that in mind.

To recap in simple words

If you want to increase the amount you delegated - simply add the amount you have already delegated with the amount you want to delegate => total delegation. Enter this number in the field and then click on delegate.

If you have 100 steempower delegated but want to delegate 200 steempower more - then enter 300.
If you have 500 steempower delegated but only want to delegate 100 from now on - then enter 100.
If you want to cancel all delegation to smartsteem - then enter 0.

Also, keep in mind that we offer both vote-selling through @smartmarket as delegation. You can decide for yourself what you want to invest in.

Hi guys,

I just use your service and I put 3 STEEM worth 6$ right now
I only received 2$ worth of upvote

I don't think it's really fair
Can you do something about it? Thank you =)

That happened to me too. I sent 5 Steem & received $2.9. It was so bad but I was new, so I just left it.

if post says $2 then you would get ~1SBD which is currently worth $10+ each

What if I'm 100% SP ? It's not worth it then

True, but with the current price of SBD 100% power up is a bad idea regardless of using smartsteem services or not, there is no way for smartsteem to give out extra voting power just because someone has used a suboptimal option, it cannot work that way, but it would have to for you to get the right amount.

Currently 1 SBD ~= 5 STEEM, and the default is half SBD payout, so can you really expect that you will get 2.5x the voting weight of anyone else just for using 100% power up? It doesn't make sense, sorry. This is just how steemit works, nothing to do but learn to use it according to that. Before deciding on 100% power up you should look at SBD prices compared to steem prices, otherwise you are losing much more than 3 STEEM. Actually it has been like that for a while now but only recently has it become very obvious.

I hope this all makes sense.
Please avoid 100% powerup while SBD is so high.

Thank you for your reply, it makes sense indeed

Hey @therealwolf, I follow you and I'm looking into your tools. On the smartsteem.com/sponsors site, are those percentage payouts daily, weekly? Thank you in advance for a reply. :)

Been looking everywhere for this:
.

Finally, I got it. Thanks

hey cool. super rad to see so many people putting out tutorials. let's be honest we are gonna see a lot of people heading out way! :)

Nice tutorial. Planning for delegation

I decided to join the whitelist :)

Can you please explain little about whitelist, Can I reach audience without bothering about whitelist?

'can I reach audience' in relation to whitelisting on smartsteem, answer I think would be yes, because this does not impact your use of steemit or the feed of your followers, but rather the details of how you can use smartsteem. Non-whitelisted people can use @smartmarket services but have some limitations for using the other features of @smartsteem

I hope this helps make sense of it ^_^

You told me that you feel sorry for not whitelisting me (when you transferred steem to my wallet ), will you whitelist my account in future? or what is the alternative way ?
