I dont see how some of these posts are so valuable i see some of the dumbest shit on here get such huge pay outs its disgusting. My posts may not be a matter of importance or not but ive gotten more genuine feedback from them then anything else ive seen and i dont know how this site values its posts but its flawed for sure. There are fake add acounts getting hundreds of dollars in payours where us the real steemit community of normal people trying to connect are getting pennies on the dollar20170317_202538.jpg

I completely understand where you're comin' from @skinnythames, we write and post and expect results after hours of writing and formatting, and the guy with the backyard Wildflower/insect post ( that took all if five minutes and virtually no thought) gets $5, while a worthwhile article sits alone without views. I have to agree with @ajain, but this is a far cry from FB (which was possibly the worst high school I've ever been to lol). The population here IS actually quite supportive, but finding "good support" (aka...Whales) to upvote or reply is a bit of a "process". Sooo... Keep on posting y'all ... That's what we're here for 😉

PS.. Cute pic indeed

Part of my frustration was due to not undertanding how the steem power works now that i know that it makes sence. Alot of the followers i had in the beginning that id talk to were fairly new as well none of us really had any steem power. To get where i want to be i unclderstand now its not a whale i want its like minded people that share interests that are going to be around for awhile. I want friends with steem power and input and i feel like im well on my way @symbiotic i appreciate the compliment on the pic, when i post i find that my son and his dog will always be the cutest its way better then using a google image atleast my posts and my pics will be original

Just "Connect" with people... Like you said, "Like-minded", and always be You. In the end, it's not what you say that people will remember, it's how you made them feel. Spread the Love and Blog on fellow Steemian!😊

if you have more steem power, your votes matter more. I haven't seen fake accounts make much. if they are i'm sure there's a reason. the people here have a voice and say in who is being rewarded.. it's a good system. post often, interact with the community, and you'll do okay

To me it sounds like Ol' boys club. I steem because I like blogging. Though i share the sentiments of this post.

So let me get this straight just to be clear on the steem power cause im not quite getting it. Just holding steem power in your wallet makes your vote worth more right? Its not were you have to spend the steem power to get a better vote its the more steem power in your wallet the more voting power you have. And you can turn that steem power into steem wich is a tradable currency? Posting often and always replying are two things i am good at ha i guess im still needing a whale ha i love the way this site opperates its truly revelutionary and i think it makes peoples opinions matter just that much more its like a not so exclusive facebook

yes having steem power in your wallet gives you more power in the community, so someone who's been on here interacting with people for months will have a bigger pull than someone new. which is frustrating at first, but it encourages people to be active on here. i like it. definitely revolutionary.. would be nice to have more of these type of platforms pop up, this one seems very formal and intimidating, so it's harder to convince people to join.

Ah it makes sense to me now that does contribute to some of the genius to this place thanks for clearing that up for me

I am with ya on this, I've been ranting about the click bait shit posters the last few days. We will win by cultivating our personalities and better content. Keep fighting the good fight.

Im slowly catching on to how this site works and making some progress the key is steem power my friend

To say that quality content = payout here would be a gross oversimplification. There are two ways to get good payouts. One is to work hard at connecting with other quality posters and gain as many followers as you can, hopefully a few with lots of steem power. If they upvote and resteem you, itll be much easier. The other way is to put a lot of money into your account and make "meh" content.

The good news though, is a lot of people with lots of steem power are pretty solid human beings, I've come across a bunch, but there are a lot of people trying to leech off them and impress them so I think it's better to just be natural and comment on posts that interest you.

I'll give you an upvote and post, those two are too cute!

Thank you! Those two right there let me tell you they are the greatest gifts in the world :)

While certainly there is a bit of truth to your sentiment, it seems to have root in a sense of paranoia. If you focus on that you won't get very far here and not because of some shitty post conspiracy, but because that focus reveals a lot about your motivations.

Thats fair i can see why youd say that but the responses i get from these linds of questions helps me to better understand how this all works and come together. To be frank we are all attracted to this site for a reason other then an outlet for our feelings. Everyone on here has a motivation. And mine is yes making a little extra money but also to understand what is so attractive about this setup in the first plce. Out of the many people im following i can say none of them come from any kind of similarity as me and thats what i like most. My facebook is personal and everyone on it i see in person on a day to day basis. All my friends and followers here come from all walks of life on every continent and none of them have i ever met in person so when i get a response from these people i truly get to experience every side of the answers and questions and its refreshing. Id be a member even with out the obvious rewards. I dont think paranoia was the right word to use there. I dont think anyone on here is looking to quit their day job to post on steemit all day but i think most would agree that we all want to take advantage of it as most as we can after all thats why its here

It's easy to think that other people are similar to you, or have similar motivations. If you could truly see the motivations of others, I bet some would surprise you. Me as an example, I'm destroying specifically any desire for results here and am using it as a platform to develop sincerity and conquer my lust for results.
The paranoia comment is mostly because of the vibe of the post. There seemed to be a suggestion of a conspiracy for Steem to flow into the hands of certain people who aren't putting in the work, but are somehow being more successful than people who put their hearts into it. I may have misread you on that though.
