We have a responsibility to research and vote for witnesses to represent us on the Steem blockchain. To effectively do so we need good tools and services for monitoring and more. Previously and still somewhat we lack many tools for such a task.

Moving forward I would love to hear your suggestions on tools to use and I'll share the few I use now and do a quick search for any others.

SteemReports

You can start by going over to http://www.steemreports.com/witness-voters/ and checking out the live charting of the witness votes and influence that make up the selection for the top 20 witnesses.

It's simple enough. It shows you the vote value of each person that voted for who and their influence in doing so. We can see the a vote from Ned under Freedom basically guarantees you a top 20 position. This is a good way to gauge where votes are coming from and have more insight on the top 20 witnesses.

SteemPlus

As I've mentioned numerous times, Steemit is a great platform, but using SteemPlus allows you to do so much more. One of the most important things it does is largely improve your access to and insights about witnesses you have voted for and witness statistics.

I've wrote about it many times before, but it does ALOT. Here is the link to the actual extension to get it, it's extremely simple just download it and start using it.

It adds an extra menu option to your blog page for witness info. One nice thing it does it highlight in red any inactive witnesses that you should remove your vote from. It also let's you know the current rankings for witnesses that you have voted for.

Witness SteemD

If you navigate to https://steemd.com/witnesses you can get a great deal of information about the witnesses and what they have set their price feeds to etc.

I struggled to find much else in terms of services. I mainly wanted to share the top 20 vote checker as I think it's important we keep on eye on everything going on. If you know any other services or want to share an experience you had using one of these, let me know in the comments below!
