IFPI Announces the Top 20 Albums of 2023

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is the organization that represents the interests of the recording industry and helps its members license and generate commercial value for music through all available channels worldwide.

IFPI announced the global top 20 albums of 2023. ​While K-pop group SEVENTEEN's FML ranked 1st, SEVENTEEN also nab their first IFPI Global album award. It is also noteworthy that 5 of the top 10 albums are K-pop.

According to IFPI's statement, the award is calculated based on the album's worldwide sales in streaming, download and physical music formats. And SEVENTEEN's album FML ranked No. 1 on the chart and SEVENTEEN nab the IFPI Global Album Award.​

Frankly, the chart is not surprising at all, because these albums were really popular around the world and were listened to a lot. However, in my opinion, the best album of 2023 is SZA's "SOS" album, even though it was released in December 2022, it left its mark on 2023.
