BTC actually followed Moore's Law quite well, in 2010, $10 pizza costed 10000BTC, 0.1 cents, in 2018 it hit $20K, which is 200K growth. In fact Moore's law dictates 0.1x2^8=$25.6, BTC surpassed Moore's Law by 100K times. However, due to scale it will saturate and comes down to Moore's Law.
My favorite anchor for Bitcoin is 2013. It hits $100 twice.
We might need to give these coins half a decade to start being more reliable.
