RE: Economic collapse is our opportunity: The gift of desperation

in #steem6 years ago

I'm sure you had two posts in here... nice account of your early days!

Capitalism's contraductions haven't gone away... so a crash is coming.

Although one thing which may prevent people coming to steem is the large tech companies... they are awash with liquid funds like no other institions in history and they xould so very easily use them in a crisis to just clone (and destroy) steem if it showed signs of growth in a crash (so maybe a peak following a crash is the time to powerdown!

On Netflix... they could probably slash its subs by 90% for half a decade and survive. Just offer re-runs for the poor.

Think about instead of direct into Steem, they invest into Steem apps. It means they can leverage the tech and have all the benefits of a startup project.

Why would they want to invest in steem when they can just invest a couple of billion dollars and create their own blockchain which they control?

I'd be amazed if they're not already doing it.

And with the coder talent pool Google etc. have already got tworking for them, Facechain won't be long in coming.

Although I'm sure a few million more would give them a better brand name.

They could do that too. Steem doesn't need so users many to be valuable and, there are people who are looking wider than google these days

Imagine what happens with Facebook if it added distribution like Steem does.

I'd be amazed if they're not already doing it. Or the next thing...

I might be wrong of course!
