Have a feeling some corpos are fearing what steemit may become and how it can challenge their social websites own supremacy. Someone here on steemit noted earlier in the year that some entities bought into steem/sbd heavily, perhaps those entities were saving exactly for a time like this to try to discourage/ruin sentiment/cause panic selling to try to diminish steemits popularity. After all these corpos get 0% unlimited loans to play with markets. Whats a couple of million $ loss to them? nothing.. but a couple million $ sell order for steem/sbd is a big deal for all who watch and care for this site to continue. Stay strong, because I don't think steemits going anywhere.
Hopefully the owners of the servers that run the website never cave into the pressure of a buy out of some sorts from FB or something like that.
This isn't a conspiracy
The elites at FB didn't do this. The market is tiny and a whale sold some steem. It's such a small market it didn't take much. I love our steemit community but I have lost faith is steem winning this fight. I hope I'm wrong but I see people I know leaving the site out of frustration after trying it for months

Maybe its the censorship by staff.
Markets are manipulated I think. Alt coins are drowning and that's perfectly fine. They'll zoom up when their time comes and these times will be forgotten. Weather the storm.
I'm happy to accumulate my core coins on these dips for the long run. Trying not to buy much Steem as my personal experiment to earn my way with the platform out of principle, but not easy at all.
Most alt coin are garbage and as time moves on people will realize which are good and which serve no purpose. There will soon be a change when they tokens start showing there utility
True true. Most are underdeveloped or shells now, but I'm very selective since I've been in the space for a bit.
Most alt-coins suck.. steem is no different. Generally when BTC goes up most or all altcoins go red. If BTC ever goes down money pours back into alt coins. Plus this new setup is ugly on steemit. I don’t know why they thought the change in colour was needed. Perhaps other roll outs are in their way.
In my humble opinion, I think this depends a lot on the value of the BTC currently that destabilizes or not the other currencies and alters the actions in the same way.
