Hi friends,

Price is going down but volumen is very high. What is going on? Should we expect a uptrend in the next weeks?

    I've heard 'rumors' regarding the upcoming bitcoin fork next week are the reason. People are selling off, maybe, to buy bitcoin.
    I'm not sure because I am very novice about understanding cryptocurrency.

    But my thought is this... why invest in bitcoin which is soaring? Keep money in steem, or lesser cryptocurrencies, and let them get higher in value. Am I wrong to think that way>

        Why invest in btc? Because its first mover. Because only 0.2% owns it. Because for the bitcoin market to be as big as the gold market it should trade at 400,000usd per coin. Smart people realize this. Btc is still in its infancy. So are alt coins.

        People are buying btc now for the exact reason you mentioned - the fork. After the fork, btc gold will be pumped and then profit will be used to pump the alt markets once again. I expect many 100% gains after the fork.

          People are attracted to the 'first' big mover and the one that breaks the system, I guess. but if you didn't get in at the bottom, it can be costly to invest now.
          Hence why I am staying with steem and steemit.
          I have no monetary investment. Every penny in my wallet was earned from writing, blogging and commenting.

          Our oldest son has 100s of BTC and I applaud him because he got in when it was new and each one he bought he paid under $5 for. That was years ago and now look at his small investment's value.

          I know the numbers are 'projected' and at times, maybe even hopeful for btc, and to all those who invested early, kudos! Nice nest egg you have now.
