RE: Voting Abuse and Ineffective Curation: A proposal for blockchain-level change

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

I'm leaving because of many of the problems you cite. It's become a circle-jerk powered by bots. Barely literate posts by scammers rise up because they have SP, other wales only selling their vote power not curating etc. "Great post mate" spam everywhere.

Purely as a crypto I'm not against large holders having much, much larger staking rewards at all, the problem is that doesn't make for good content.

As someone who's leaving I have no motivation but to tell it like it is.

  • Bots should be banned, it's a robot parade.

  • Steem Power should have diminishing returns to put everyone on more equal terms.

  • The "power down"delay is a double-edged sword, yes it's supposed to bring stability ( I'd argue it doesn't), but also makes people reluctant to put in a large amount, knowing they won't have access to it for weeks. Crypto moves fast, you need to be able to respond fast.

And before "you're just jealous you're not a whale" replies that I've gotten on these concerns before, take a look at Steemit's active user retention. It's grim. Things need changing and I'm giving you a perspective as one of these soon-to-be-abandoned accounts as to why people leave.
