RE: Steem is turning around?

in #steem6 years ago

I would be interested to know when new users generally start buying STEEM. The way that cryptos move together makes it seem like there are a lot of people who are buying and selling all the coins together as if they all have the same future outlook. Do those people eventually wonder about the STEEM that they bought blindly and start using Steemit? I hope that isn't how it works.

I hope that most new users are making an account and using it for a little while to explore and make friends before they buy STEEM. It seems like users who have friends on Steemit are much more likely to stick with it and keep their STEEM powered up. That is really the only thing that will increase the demand for STEEM.

Either way, I'm in for the long term. My investment is made and I'm sticking with it.

I think for the most part new users dont... only those who get a taste of what SP can do for you ever do it, and that's if they even can.

I don't know how to do it, but it would be great if new users could bootstrap their way into a good position by producing good content. It must be frustrating to work your butt off to write a really good introductory article and see it get buried in a flood of lower quality content.

On the other hand, the value of STEEM is dependent on the the goodwill of STEEM holders, who expect to get something for their investment. If they get tired of having a lot of wealth tied up in STEEM they will sell and that will be bad for everyone.

I think the connection between the desire to recognize the efforts of new users and reward STEEM holders is through the curation mechanism. Maybe it is the beer talking (I'm in the middle of the three way taste test - very serious business.) but I think that the curation process is undervalued. Finding and promoting good content should be more highly regarded and more rewarded.

It might be better if one whale vote could get you a lot of visibility, but not a big reward. The only way to get big rewards should be a grassroots movement - a large number of small votes. I don't know how to make it happen, but it feels like it is possible.

No, no professor its not the beer your logic is pretty solid here... btw, let me ask you... are you on discord too?

I think I made a Discord account for something, but I don't use it. Should I?

Yes, I will like to offer you a hand! :)

Ok. I will log in tomorrow and try to figure out how to use Discord.

I do have a Discord account. Now I remember that I made it to join PALnet and PEVO, but I just fell out of the habit of using it.
