STEEM can bring big change!

Hello STEEMians!
What if instead of using your government backed money to donate to any of a million nonprofits, you used your voting power and social network to build STEEM to be used for social change? It’s possible.

I feel like I’m starting to grasp the concepts here. WOW! I see so many opportunities to be a force of positive change on this planet!! To earn rewards for writing &/or curating content is genius.

So then I ask myself, “what will my content be?” “Why am I here?” “What is my goal?”. My heart immediately said “Let’s earn money for a cause!”. Yes, my heart speaks in quotes. 😛

What cause and how? Well, I reached out to the human that introduced me to Steemit, @bryanjames. He had mentioned to me how awesome it would be to earn crypto for doing things that make us blissful. At the time, I had no clue what he was on about! Now I see movements taking place, like @runforsteem, where the members use their voting power to earn and then split the pay out! Ok! That’s awesome! Except... I don’t run. I don’t want to run. I’m not running, you can’t make me. Ha! I might be able to get behind # eatforsteem @jumowa, lol but that’s for another day. I’m not here to earn money for myself. But what if there were a cause that most humans can get behind and want to improve... like, food scarcity or homelessness? Clean drinking water? I can think of many areas to help. We could use our voting power to earn Steem. Then we can use that power to help those in need. That’s where more details are needed. I’m confident we will find a way!

So, let’s do this! I’m running out of reasons not to. My vote costs me nothing, and could mean everything to a human in need. Please share your ideas and thoughts below.
