Just wondering why Golos would do a share drop and how would like benefit Golos?
They do a share drop as part of the license fee to STEEMIT inc. and STEEMIT community. This way STEEMIT Inc. will receive additional funding without printing or selling anything. Read GOLOS team announcement, the link is in one of the comments above. GOLOS will base most of the code from STEEM but will launch their own GOLOS tokens and GOLOS team will keep part of the mined GOLOS currency for themselves and for the development of their website (which is the natural and correct choice from my point of view).
