Hey guys,

if you're wondering why didn't bring you this week's episode of "My Artistic Journey", it's because I need to start focusing also on the 'real tangible world' so to say. I am still planning on restarting the series next week but...

Festival Season and Songwriting Workshops
Festival season is coming up so I need to put on a booking agent hat and start contacting them if I want to play - which I do! I also want to organize some songwriting workshops and take care of creating some form of sufficient regular income (unless I make a great investment move in the crypto space ;) ). The pressure is building up so to say...

Active vs. Passive Income
I feel that working on Steemit has brought me a wonderful way of generating income with my content, yet it still has some ways to go before it can cover my bills... What's more important from a business perspective, it's all active income - i.e. you have to exchange your time for money. Now that is good but I don't want it to be the only stream of income for me because it's not smart to make money that way - if you can't show up for some reason, you don't get paid.

While I know that the way to build wealth and sustainable financial flow is basically through passive income or investment, I feel like I haven't been focusing on it enough recently. Especially since I got sucked into the Steemit world :) Nothing against it, but it's not sustainable for me long term.

"Real World vs Online World"
I don't know about you, but when I work on Steemit, I tend to isolate myself and spend a lot of time at home by myself which I really don't enjoy that much in the end. I need more of a balance between the real world and the online world - contact with real human beings, playing live AND then sharing it online. But if I just dig myself into the online world, I go crazy in my house....

So I made a commitment to myself that this week, I would start focusing on real life activities and less on Steemit activities.

How do you manage your Steemit life with real life? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Cheers

Petra

Well you nailed it ! I was just having the very same conversation with my wife, and came to the conclusion that you need to make some space for greater things to happen, and for this it means being able to dedicate time to it , there's no secret.
So I am with you on it, it's just difficult to balance it out, as the income from steemit is very much needed>
Food for thoughts as @braveit says thanks for sharing with us your state of mind

Yes, but recently I felt that the number of hours I put into it in comparison to the income I generated was disproportional and didn't reflect the value that I believe my time and work has. Indeed, it's about a steady commitment but also about real life contact and networking - at least I have craved it for the last two months big time! So I'm making some adjustments ;)

It resonates so much with me too once again , I am hunting for gigs at the moment, as I believe that's where the cash is , and I came to the conclusion that ferstival/event organizers look at Facebook/Instagram pages to check how popular you are, so it's like the snake is biting his own tale , I need to spend some time outside to find gigs and network, but then I need to populate Instagram and Facebook with content so it doesn't look like I am a nobody .
Weird world we live in , let me take my guitar and sing you a song, if you like it hire me , why my number of followers come play a role in this, i do not know...

You know what else I’m offering festival organizers? Songwriting workshops and Blockchain-based social media consultations, management and presentation ;) I have a meeting with the first one on Monday. How’s that for a tip? ;)

i see you're doing great of Facebook, you have good interactions, maybe you can lend me few more tips too because I am surely doing something wrong here :)

It’s been years of effort... but I learn a lot from AR Artist Management page and weekly seminars. Check it out

Thanks I am watching right now!

My Prediction: Steemit is in the Very, very beginning of its crypto lifespan. Like Bitcoin in 2009. It will boom eventually and you will be one one the very early contributors, "Founding members."
I am still getting started "still trying to get Dtube, & Dsound to work for me." I definately do like what you are doing, so Keep it up. Create, create create.
Russ

Thank you, Russ! I think it's about feeling out what the platforms have to offer you and how you personally fit into it... Good luck with your work!!

wow.... that's really a food for thoughts. thanks for sharing @petrajordan
but that shouldn't put to end your life online.
you just have to balance it

No worries, it won't ;) It's just about the balance, just like you mentioned it!
