Please add feature to hide NSFW posts
The ability to hide NSFW Posts is needed immediately
I don't want to see nude photos
If people want to post this type of content, it is their right to do so. However, I think this community needs to have a feature to hide these type of posts. Also, I think we don't want this type content to be displayed automatically to new users. We are in a rapid growth phase and I don't want to see our momentum slowed by potentially turning off new users.
Slippery slope of censorship is slippery. Perhaps a post can have more than one "tag" and can be labeled to describe what it actually contains and every sub culture can censor content as they see fit.
In the mean time please have any photo containing women showing more than their eyes marked "NSFW" . Anything else is an affront to a huge segment of the world population and viewing photos of such could be a firing offense.
Yes, see my post on steem-standards for a proposal for this. The explicit field could have values other than "nsfw" in the array that describe the nature of the content. It isn't just about auto-hiding images. There could be values in the array describing that the post contains explicit language of a {sexual, violent, etc.} nature, which could then (per each user's custom client settings) maybe cause the entire post content (even the text) to be click-to-reveal.
Whoa. That's going too far. We have to decide as a community what we want the default state of a post (i.e. no explicit field set for the post whatsoever) to mean about its contents. I don't think every post should by default have a "nsfwahhabis", for example, value in the "explicit" field unless the user explicitly opts out of it. In that particular case, I think it makes more sense to allow uses to opt in to a "sfwahhabis" value (not my actual proposed name for the feature, that's just me being tongue-in-cheek) in the "explicit" field which would cause that post's images and video embeds to auto-show in the clients of ultraconservative users instead of their client's default behavior of auto-hiding all images and video embeds just to be on the safe side.
Upvoted for style, though I think a simple nsfw attribute (which UIs can do with as they see fit) is a good 90% solution
This is a steemit issue, that's why I posted there - https://steemit.com/steemit-issues/@pharesim/short-reminder-for-the-steemit-team
It's just not added, not sure how no one thought of it. But nsfw should have a hidden thumbnail and pic at all times.
