Steem might not be the "way out" of working. It might take hours upon hours of work. However, I can tell you this much: it's special. I think all of us need to appreciate it just a little more.
I agree. Obviously money is important on this platform, but I think people take things too seriously. They complain about all the flaws of Steem and have this expectation that "Steem must become XYZ" in order for me to like it and enjoy it. This is an illusion that most people will unfortunately realize after a long time when things supposedly change the way they want it to and they are still unhappy and complain.
This makes me think of the people who want 50/50 curation rewards. While they will benefit more, it will also be harder for them to get into content creation when they realize how much they will then be not making.
Possibly. But just because something is 50/50 curation rewards, it doesn't mean you will earn less. 50/50 might incentivize more people to curate which then can result in higher rewards for everyone. Compared to 75/25, you are getting a smaller slice of the pie, but due to more people being incentivized to curate, the pie itself will become bigger. i.e. 50% of $100 is $50 but if people don't want to curate as much under the 75/25 curve (and instead just want to create content), maybe the total rewards will only equal $60 for that same post in which 75% of that is $45.
This is speculation and I am not sure if it will work. Maybe SMTs are the appropriate way to test it out without changing Steems reward curve.
