What is different about Steemit of course is the pay based on the value of the coin. "Activity" seems to jump when the payouts (based on coin value) increase and vice versa. However, for us folks that are on here daily, you could "feel" the increase in activity. It used to feel like a small town, now it feels more like a city which brings good and bad.
