Create and Save your Steem Posts Offline!

There are a lot of posts I am seeing today about problems people have had recently about being unable to post steem articles or their loosing their work that they had invested a lot of time into.

One comment that I saw mentioned that http://busy.org was not suffering the same symptoms as http://steemit.com however I wanted to draw everyone's attention to how not having a local copy of work we have done is always risky.

Problem

When we work inside a browser all of our work is dependant on our connection to the Internet. If we spend 1 hour working on a post and then our internet connection goes down, we are likely to loose all of that content.

• If the Browser we are using, crashes or locks up, all of the content we have been working on will likely need to be re-done.

• If the site we are connected to comes under an attack we are very likely to loose all of our work.

• If the site we are connected to goes down due to either power issues, natural disaster or even a fiber cut which happens more often than we realize, we will most likely loose all of our work.

Solution

The solution to this is do our work on our local computer, save it so we have a copy on our computer then either upload the file or copy the content into the form for a new post.

​I personally use the Markdown application Haroopad which is available for Windows, OSX, and Linux.
