Steem opening the forgotten economy
There is a whole world of people who live apart from the everyday economy. Those who have the means, but not the will. People who face the struggle of just waking up and facing life each day, let alone participating in the madness which is the world around us.
Cryptocurrencies provide a means to connect with the world, to participate in the want/need dynamic of the larger world without having to be confronted by that world, but traditionally, cryptocurrencies are complicated and intimidating. Steemit is the first platform which caters for both the social and economic needs of all people, giving it broad appeal, and a clear expectation of rising value over the coming years.
steemit is broken. 99% of posts get 0.00 while the people who had $$$ to invest get stupid facebook memes up to $800 - you think steemit is really going to help forgotten economy? Think again
I would be cautious to draw such conclusions so early on.
Steemit is an incredibly interesting platform with huge potential - but it is still in beta and thus not a finished product. There are bound to be broken and poorly balanced things and as the community increases, more will undeniably be uncovered. It is however up to the community and developers to ensure that we find workable solutions and alternatives so that Steemit may reach its full potential. If you would rather see something which is not facebook memes (and I very much understand if so), then you have every opportunity to post a well-written and informative article about something else.

Exciting isn't it? I agree with you. The general gist I'm seeing from everyone on this network is that they're pumped. The optimism is through the roof. This is the biggest buzz I've ever seen online and I don't think it's an understatement to say that it has the potential to be the next big web revolution.
