2nd Place in Netcoins contest. We will win.
We have made it into second place.
First of all great work from everybody who has voted so far but now is the time to push onwards not settle for a good effort. Just three days ago I came across a post from @oracle-d who were trying to get us placed in the netcoins contest.

For the few of you steemians who haven't heard about this yet the concept is simple.
As mentioned on their site, getting listed on Netcoins means the following:
Getting your coin sold in 171,000 retail locations in over 53 countries across 6 continents
Press releases and media exposure on financial sites and crypto sites (Nasdaq, Globenewswire, Coinmarketcap, Coincodex etc…)
Global OTC desk availability
This is what we are trying to achieve for STEEM. Getting listed on any new exchange is good news for STEEM and therefore all of us STEEM holders.
I have voted, have you?
This year there was a huge referendum that would define the future of my country. It was to do with abortion legislation. A few years ago there was a referendum of similar importance on marriage rights for the future. In both cases the youth of Ireland traveled home to have a say in their thousands.
Ahead of the upcoming referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment, plenty of Irish emigrants have already been travelling home to cast their vote.
The #Hometovote hashtag began trending on Twitter with people coming home to vote on both the Yes and No sides from all corners of the globe.
Just like the Marriage Equality referendum, some of the commuting tales are remarkable with people even flying from Buenos Aires to London to Dublin.
Parents reunited with their children at the arrival gates, friends reconnecting after spending time apart and the simple home comforts of Ireland are all being enjoyed but, of course, the main issue revolves around Friday's vote.
Regardless of your stance on the Eight Amendment, it's encouraging to see a wave of Irish people exerting their democratic right to vote and shape the future of Ireland.

What we are facing right now is not quiet in the same league in terms of importance but it can be taken on in the same manner. Across Steemit there has been a call to arms to progress our future. Great strides have been made moving us from 11th to 2nd over just three days but we need more. For us there is no need to travel thousands of kilometers and spend hundreds of euro's to cast our vote. All we are asked to do is log in once a day and click STEEM. It's not too much to ask but over 4 days we have only achieved 3800 votes .
We can do better.
Incentives.
Not only that but a number of users large and small have been posting and encouraging users to vote. Some are offering prizes and rewards for people who show that they have taken part. What more could we ask for???

By 20 now and we were 300 behind an hour ago. In the end we will probably win by a huge amount now that people are getting involved. We have made up huge ground very fast and it's great to see. We are the greatest blockchain and hopefully everybody will see that at some stage.
I've a couple of hours before my few votes go in. And they will.

Great to see it. It was really nice to see so many people get behind the idea. It's what we need to get steem out there. The developers are busy with other things but we have enough active members to promote it a bit ourselves.

We will get there no problem. The numbers are moving a lot faster today and you can see that it is everywhere in the news feeds. People are getting motivated.
So glad we finally climbed above XVG that didn't even deserve to be on the list the most hackable blockchain on the planet. Now just to get that terrible shill fest pump and dump pack coin out the way and we're golden. Funny how people will vote for anything just for some free useless crypto. Pac hasn't done anything in its white paper yet
Took a while to get people involved but it's all the rage now. We should get to the top with all the publicity over the past few days.
Apperantly there was a lot of dodgy voting going on for Pac and Verge and thats why the voting was changed. There was the authorization today which wasn't there before.
We do lots for free crypto. That's why we STEEM. 😎

Oh really? I knew those buggers were up to no good, they're not that well supported projects.
So true, we all came here for the free internet money and now we're well still here for the STEEM but also the banter, id say its 50/50.
Getting paid for banter. What's not to love. That and getting paid to play games next with steemmonsters.... a great combination. It's all up from here.

Wow nice one. The last time I checked steem was at 3rd place.
Hopefully we will clinch the first place.
Moving a lot faster today. We shot up a few hundred voted in an hour and made huge gains on the top three.
At this rate we should be able to get the number 1 spot.
