Question, questions.......
The vast majority of people who make the highest rewards here are the ones who have zero interest in engaging and being a part of a community. Steem is the worst kind of greed-driven cash grab with zero proof-of-brain reward system, so I need to ask a few open questions......
@ned , is this how and why Steem was created?
Developers, how will you make money in your endeavours when the members with money to spend simply spend it on their own self-promotion and reward grab and the vast majority of members get sick of this and stop using the blockchain?
Why are all the 'witnesses' techies? Why is there no ability for a wider cross-section of the community to have a say in the running of this blockchain?
Why is this blockchain with accountability and transparency at the heart of its core values run by committee in secret chat rooms?
It is a mistake to view this platform in the way you are viewing it. The steemit app is just one possibility of what the steem blockchain can do, and as per Ned's own words, was never intended to be a perfect reward system, it was intended to only be a system in which as many new people could acquire crypto would do so.
H @gank , I disagree. I mentioned Steem not Steemit. Steem the blockchain is where the control of rewards is. It makes no difference what interface or DApp you use, there is only one reward pool which is why I think there is a fundamental flaw in the whole economic model and the way it can be manipulated. There is no such thing as 'perfect', I just want to see fairer and unplayable!!
Steem does not have a reward pool, steemit does.
Steem creates new coins/inflation, the dapps can choose how they interact with the blockchain.
Steemmonsters is a dapp and distributes no rewards to players on a play by play basis.
Ahh OK, but Steem and Steemit are both controlled by Steem inc ? In which case I wish someone would use the open source blockchain code and restart a new improved version!
Ok good, we are making progress!
The guys who created Steem blockchain, then went ahead and built the first dapp on it, steemit. They incorporated Steemit as a irl business, but ultimately steemit is just showcasing 1 thing that the steem blockchain can do. What it can handle is pretty much what can be dreamt.
Thqnk you lol....so if we remove Steemit the DApp from the blockchain, we are simply left with a blockchain and no rewards system? If this ismso, then itnappears that every DApp needs Steemit to be able to function?
Steemit could be taken away tomorrow and steemmonsters would still be fully functioning on the steem blockchain.
Steemit is a way for the creators to showcase the blockchain.......but it is just one of infinite possibilities both big and small.
The rewards system thru steemit is basically the whitepaper inflation in steem.
It is a little tough to fully understand but you should read the whitepaper.
