Vegas' Living Legends: Lonnie Hammargren

If you've lived in Las Vegas for some time, you're probably aware of Lonnie Hammargren - or you've at least driven past his house feeling puzzled in awe. This past weekend, I was honored to meet the retired neurosurgeon and ex-Lieutenant Governor of Nevada and take a tour of his house. The property consists of three different houses combined with access to each other through obscure passage ways filled with Lonnie's collection of Vegas history. Over the two and a half days spent there, I only caught a glimpse of Lonnie's collection. Here are some pictures to share, again, this is but a fraction of the amount of history this man holds.

Lonnie Hammargren's castle is toured by appointment only. However, he does open to the public twice a year. One being Nevada Day, and the other being every Halloween, where he transforms his basement into a haunted adventure.
