https://beempy.com/ is another useful site for checking RC. I've been trying to help boost some of my friends who are finding themselves much more restricted than they were in the past.

Are you delegating RC's Melinda? If so how? :-) I'd like to do that too.

I don't think we can yet, but I certainly hope that is in the works!

I personally think it's a big problem for small accounts and new users @molometer. I don't see how they are going to get anywhere without having to buy Steem.

I commented like a demon and posted 4 times a day, met a few people in person who were kind enough to add me to their automatic voting trails and it still took me 8 months to reach 1000 Steem Power.

I had a couple of friends who joined a couple of months after me and gave up because they just couldn't get anywhere. And that was before the HF20 restrictions.

The difference between the end of last year and a couple of months later was huge so I can't imagine what it must be like now.

It's hard enough trying to get your head around everything here when you join without getting such little reward for it. Especially when you can see how much advantage the accounts that got here early have.

I suppose the difference is, that we get paid anything at all. This is the key take away. No one said it is easy and there is a lot to learn how it all hangs together but I have also met several people irl who have blogged their way to well over 30,000 SP in a year on steemit alone and they were not here from the start.

It's not the volume of posting that counts but finding the audience for that content.

If the content is engaging then it can do well with a bit of marketing. Sharing posts on social media can give you some traction.

I agree that people have blogged their way to good Steem Power that were not here from the start but there aren't many who have done so who joined after me or even at the same time as me.

I'm not sure why but it's something to do with the way Steem Power is earned or rewarded or something.

People often talk about how hard it was here in the past when Steem was only worth 8c but I would be happy for it to be that if I could earn the sort of SP that those people earned.

That SP makes a huge difference in my opinion because the more you have the easier it is to build.

I agree no-one said it was easy but I feel that for new accounts now it's next to impossible.

The only person I know who has made dolphin, without buying Steem, in the time that I've been here has been consistently upvoted by a large account. His posts are pretty similar to mine but he has a very large upvote for each of his posts and comments from someone who is from his own country.

I'm not complaining, I just think there is a lack of understanding what it's like to try and earn SP now as compared even with a year ago.

Yep there is a lot of that going around but it's been that way since I joined. Some people just get lucky I guess? Wish a whale would adopt me lol

It would be interesting to see a graph of how RC's are effected with a modest increase of SP. I hope/suspect the curve is rather steep hopefully. I delegated 150 SP to one that was having trouble and now they seem fine.

That sounds about right. Even low SP (15 SP) accounts can comment 100 times a day.
It would be handy if we could delegate RC's to smaller accounts too.

The @steemitblog themselves said in their last post:

Thanks to the flexibility of this system, we can continue to optimize it in ways that ensure small stakeholders can take full advantage of this revolutionary platform while limiting the risks associated with spam.

Only a week after going live we are seeing how value of our engagement has increased goven the limited spamming and thus better distribution of the reward pool.

That's exactly right. We are seeing growth in the rewards available now that the spam has been reduced.

Wouldn't it be great if we could help some small accounts
by delegating some Rc ..?! ^_^ckyoqyrbi1.png

It sure would Barbara :-)

"It still has the capacity to make an additional 16 comments, 91 votes and 99 transfers or powerups."

My understanding was it would be 16 comments or 91 votes or 99 transfers & powerups.

Can you confirm which way it works? Thank you.

Hi Kieth, guess you missed this bit above. :-)

low sp accounts are not barred from doing anything at all but must be frugal and discerning in their actions on steemit, busy, Dtube etc.

In economic terms this is called opportunity costs:-

If you take one action, it is at the cost of other actions you could have taken

OK, got it, thank you!

My pleasure. Hope it makes sense now?

Perfectly, yes :)

Good post will check out steemd

It has lots of good info Mike.

thanks for showing this @molometer I did not know it had been updated. :)
