Matte Monday
It's so cold right now. I guess I shouldn't be complaining, it's only -22° C where I am, there are places in Canada that are -52° C and that's absolutely crazy. My stepfather works in Northern Alberta and he called to tell me that it was -56° C when he woke up this morning. Apparently, the machines wouldn't start and the generators wouldn't start, so they are sending everyone back home. There average temperature on Mars is -63° C. It's almost as cold as Mars in some places here. That's crazy to me. What's the temperature where you guys live??
Tried to warm things up a little bit with this matte look. The eye shadow is from The Balm, it's called Matt Moskowitz and it's from the Matte Trimony palette! This is such a highly pigmented colour, a little bit goes a long way. I always accidentally end up making my eyes much darker than anticipated, but hey at least I know what I'm doing wrong!
The lip colour is by Kokie Professional and as far as I can tell it's just called Matte Lip Gloss. It's one of my favourites right now, as it goes on super easy, it dries really quickly and it can withstand quite a day.
The blush is by Pixi Cosmetics which is such a great brand. They don't test on animals (which we love) and they use natural and non-toxic ingredients. This means that they are slightly more expensive than your typical drug store make up, but you get what you pay for and everything that I've tried by them, I've loved
Tomorrow is my only day off this week and I'm very much looking forward to spending all day at home and not going outside 😋 I have many things that I want to get accomplished around the house, and I just finished reading this amazing book all about make up and skincare and I'm really excited to apply what I've learned to my everyday looks.
I've been struggling with inspiration for make up lately, I feel like I get stuck in a loop of what I know how to do and I'm trying to get out of that and start trying new things. I'll post some pictures below of some looks that I've been contemplating doing. Luckily, I have an extremely supportive partner who encourages me no matter what. I'm very grateful for him. He does these face masks with me and he listens to me ramble on about make up and doesn't complain. I'm really lucky to have him.
