RE: My thoughts on Dlive leaving Steem

in #steem6 years ago

Well written thoughts Andrew. Much appreciated insight.

My question is, what (if anything) is Steem Inc going to do about the 70,000 STEEM in the @dlive account? I didn't do a audit of how much of that they deposited originally versus how much was "earned" on the back of the delegation they were receiving from @ned.

I rather assume a majority of that STEEM came from self voting with the delegation and then vote buying with the profits. Feels like they will power this down to the tune of 5400 STEEM a week they are going to market dump on exchanges, not helping the value of our tokens.

Seems like the appropriate thing to do is to lock the dlive account out of that STEEM and put it to better use. Perhaps distributing it to the creators whose content dlive is attempting to build their new platform on top of. Just a thought.

Thanks again!

It is not possible for anyone, including us, to lock anyone out of their account. Whatever tokens are in an account can only be moved by someone with the private keys to that account. That is the whole point of using a Blockchain, it ensures that your tokens are yours and that there is nothing anyone can do to take them away from you.
