The unexpected crimson candles

Please don't interpret the title as if I'm losing in any way shape or form my long term attitude here, I'm just a little baffled to see this. After all, I can draw up some plausible explanations for what I'm seeing, but I can't help to think this is just someone gambling.

So what? More for me

Sure, the more it drops, the more I will accumulate, that's my attitude but still, How are people converging into selling 800K tokens in 15 minutes? That's precisely what I can't seem to digest at this very second.

I remember @scaredycatguide calling these lows, or cautioning for them a while back and I thought he had eaten some expired lunchables. The idea that STEEM would ever reach this valuation sounded insane to my ears, yet here we are, and mind you not a whole lot of time passed since I would have laughed at the thought of 31 cent STEEM.

Speculators with blindfolds

This is precisely where I raise the flag, because I happen to know that most people who are speculating on the exchanges, reading the charts, trying to guess what the market is going to do, take action knowing little to nothing about the tokens they hold.

The average speculator probably knows there is something called steemit and that some people use it, but it's nowhere near as "cool" as reddit or twitter. They don't know our community, and they certainly have no clue of what's being built here.

Think about this for a minute or two, who in the right mind would bet against the most active crypto community out there? Yes, blocktivity might say other cryptocurrencies have more transactions, at least a this very moment. But, how many of those transactions are strengthening the community that participates of that blockchain, and there my friends lies the point I'm trying to make.

Just a little longer

I've been telling this to myself almost as a mantra for months now, and honestly the light at the end of the tunnel is finally visible, so to speak. I mean, the idea of capitulation, of the shaking off all of those who are too afraid to continue has never been so real, so raw.

The extremely transited twittersphere that was once plagued with crypto-memers of different calibers is beginning to display it's tumbleweeds, and some of the influencers are beginning to probe their followers, just to see if they are still out there.

I guess, I'll join in too.... Who's still here?

Sort:

If it was just us, I'd be freaking out. It's not though, it's everyone. Since the tech is solid, we just have to strap in for a bumpy ride.

Exactly how I feel. The market is all connected right now which pretty much sucks. There is currently no independence in the world of crypto. I wonder when and if that will change as I feel it really needs to in order to grow properly.

One more big dip? Funny the faster we dip, the faster we get to recovery.

I am still here, and in fact I recently bought myself a nice chunk of SP that I could afford to snag, since the price was so low. I love this place, this platform, this blockchain and community!

Not going anywhere, staying put and continuing to make the art for the Steemians!

I think that it's just a bunch of stop-loss and take-profit marks triggeted. Even I try spread out my buys, even though I'm super excited about increasing my Steem Power.
Half of the movement is probably due this.

I'm sure you are correct, there is no other reasonable explanation :)

both feet firmly planted.

Yes, the market has been tanking so I would not expect Steem to be any different but the fact that might be getting unnoticed is that we have crossed the 10% debt ratio of SBD to Steem which means SBD is no longer $1 even on Steem's platform and there is a lot of SBD burning which is required in order to get that percent down which means more Steem and more selling pressure

I'm still here man, keep working hard for the platform. I never quit, specially if we are talking about a massive project than this. We just need wait and keep working. You are not alone in this ghost city.

Checking in... Safe and accounted for. I've had "feelings", but they pass. :)

Ready for Love @meno!!!

The best time to buy steem.

If only we knew the ratio of speculators to genuine steemians with long term plans.

I'm finding my present buying 50 (ish) steem a day strategy quite satisfying...

It helps me stop worrying about bottoms.

Oo er.

I'm waiting for a check to clear and I'm buying a little more myself
